Senator Roger Wicker

As the campaign manager for Roger Wicker’s campaign for the US Senate of Mississippi is
very rewarding. Wicker is a member of the Republican party. He is a member of many
committees that have helped our state into the 21st centenary. As an incumbent candidate, Senator
Wicker is running against two other candidates. He is the only Republican running against two
Demarcates. He served in the state senate before being elected to represent MS Senator Wicker
has served as a US Senator since December 2007.
Senator Wicker has always defended “In God We Trust”. He opposed a lawsuit that was aimed
at removing the phrase “In God We Trust”, while his opponents want to have the phrase removed
from the currency and every government building. The Freedom from Religion Foundation filed
a lawsuit challenged the constitution ability of having” In God We Trust” and the Pledge of
Allegiance from the wall of the Capital Visitors Center in Washington, D.C. Wicker stated, “The
importance of faith and belief in God is on display every single day in the capitol.” There are
multiple references to God exhibited in the building, and in both the House and the Senate open
each day in prayer.
In his position on the issue of removing the national motto and the Pledge of Allegiance is a
positive reflection on his district of MS 1st District. Being from MS, which is right in the middle
of the Bible belt, which is informally a region with in the southeastern and southcentral US.
Christian denominations play a strong role in the society and the politics of these states.
Therefore, our constituents would be in favor of Senator Wickers stand, but there is a small
fraction of people who have objected to the use of them and that they should be removed from
the currency and government buildings. They claim that it is isolated the Establishment Clause of
the 1st amendment or the Religion Clause. Therefore, many atheist lobbyists and humanists are

against the portraying of the two national enigmas on the government building. They feel like
those people without a belief in a god are considered second class citizens.
In conclusion, the reason that most Americans that are Christians believe this way about the
motto and pledge is what Paul writes about in Romans 13:1-5 “…submit to the governing
authorities for there is not authority except from God…”. Our fore fathers wanted to create a
government that would be built on their beliefs in God. They wanted their government to be
based on the Bible and its instructions. If we started our country based on the Bible and our love
of God we should keep the national motto and pledge on displayed to remember the fact that our
country was based on God and the Bible.
If we as Christians continue to stand for God and His word then our nation will not be led a
stray, but the way that we were heading has shown this. We need to continue to pray for our
leaders, country, and for God to use these leaders to make America a great nation again. Seeing
what President Donald Trump is doing thus far looks to be we are getting back on the right track.
He cannot do this alone; therefore, we must pray for God to give him the abilities to do this job
as God sees fit and help him make the right decisions with our nation. The same must be done
with our Senators, our Representatives, and our Governors otherwise our country is going to
continue to spiral out of control to where there is no coming back. Just like Senator Wicker made
a strong stand against those who wanted to tear apart what our nation was built on so should
others take a stand for it as well.
