CASE S : S A V TTUDY IMPLE NALYSIS OF ARIANCE EMPLATE
I. Simple Analysis of Variance
Research Question: “is there statistically significant difference among mean core
body temperature of groups who worked in a: cold, neutral, or hot environment?”
Assumptions Testing
1. Data level of measurement- what is the level of measurement for the data used in this
case study? __The level of measurement for this case study is interval since it is referring
to temperature which is equal distance from one point to the next and there is no absolute
zero. ____________________________________________________________
2. Would the amount of skewness and kurtosis in these affect the analysis? How do you
know? Give numerical values to support your conclusion. _The skewness for
environment 1 is 1.56 so it would not affect the analysis and the kurtosis is 0.63 which
also falls within + or – 1.96. The skewness for environment 2 is 1.62 and the kurtosis is
0.64 so skewness or kurtosis would also not affect the analysis in this group. For
environment 3 the skewness is 0.05 and kurtosis is 1.37 so again they fall within the
range of + or -1.96 and are not affected by skewness or kurtosis.
