March 29 March 30 March 31
8:00
Woke up and went to
class. Didn’t really
think about the fast to
much because I was
too tired to
play with my phone.
Woke up and went
to work in NC.
Went to church,
didn’t really notice
phone.
12:00
Finished lunch and was
waiting for next class,
instinctively pulled out
phone to show someone
a funny video I had
seen,
realized and put it away.
Ate lunch with friends,
as
the lunch winded
down and everyone
got on their phones, I
noticed that everyone
seems to do
that when a meal is
over.
Drove back to VA,
stopped and had lunch
with friends and
parents. At this point
social media was the
last thing on my
mind.
4:00
Started driving to NC
with some friends, so
didn’t think about it.
Drove to Myrtle beach
for the sunset, only
used phone to call
grandparents.
Back on campus and
couldn’t stop showing
flat
earth guy video,
other
than that no
social media
interaction.
8:00
Still driving.
Still at beach Sitting in room alone,
really wanted to
watch new girl or
continue my
Marvel movie marathon.
12:00
Went to bed, but not
after setting alarm and
swiping towards
Instagram, put phone
down and went to bed.
Watched video from
Facebook live of my
friends who were
confronted by flat
earth
evangelist on beach.
To funny to wait.
Sat in bed
wondering what I
had missed on
Instagram over the
weekend.

b.
What did you do?
I took out TV, my computer usage (which I usually us to
watch TV or surf the web), and social media. The computer
and TV part weren’t too hard because I usually have
problem with that whenever I’m doing HW as a form of
procrastination. I also only counted TV as shows and
movies, because I would have had to of been a crazy
person to not watch March Madness.
c.
How often did you reach for technology?
I reached for my phone 3-4 times over the weekend. It
usually happens when I’m done eating, or if I’m waiting for
a class to start. I did notice that a lot of people do that to,
and it seemed like every time a meal or something was
over the people around me were on their phones.
d.
How difficult was it to remain fasting?
For me my biggest use of technology is procrastination. I
didn’t have much HW this weekend so that didn’t hit me to
hard. It wasn’t necessarily hard as it was noticeable when I
see that I tend to pull it out at certain times when I'm not
doing stuff. If I'm busy I don’t touch it.
e.
Did anyone ask you about the fast?
No not really. I’ve never been much of a phone guy, so
people already know that I’m not over the top about
anything. While I would say I check it more then I like to, I
don’t think anyone else would say I’m nothing but normal.
f.
What do you feel you learned?
I feel like I was able to notice the times that myself and
other people tend to pull out our phones. It was almost like
I was able to call the shots by the end of the weekend as to
when someone would have it out. It’s so predictable.

g.
What was hardest?
4
The hardest was sitting in my dorm Sunday night and
remembering I have like 15 more movies I have to
watch before Avengers Infinity War comes out.
h.
What did God show you or how did He show up for you?
God showed me that the amount of time I spend
procrastinating I could either do HW or procrastinated by
being in his word.
i.
Anything I haven’t asked but you want to say
Write it all up!
