Karyotyping is the process of pairing and ordering all the chromosomes in an organism
which provides a snapshot of the individual’s chromosomes1. This process is typically
performed in health clinics and is beneficial to find genetic conditions. One example when
karyotyping is performed is during pregnancy. If any of the prenatal screenings are abnormal,
additional testing is done to see if the baby has any genetic or chromosomal problems2.
Regular prenatal screenings are necessary in my opinion, to test for abnormalities like
Down’s syndrome. I believe God constantly guides us in all circumstances, including health.
We should remember Exodus 24:25, “…I will take away sickness from among you”3. We need
to trust God that we are in certain situations for a reason.
