Technical communication is a skill that all professionals in the global industry need to have in
order to successfully complete tasks at hand in their professional life. As such it relates to the
Engineering career path as well. As an engineer, being able to communicate with fellow
engineers is an important part of the job description. The world we leave in is a world of
technology. And having the technical communication skills as an Engineer allows you to be able
to your job without being a burden to your team. Technical communication involves anything
that a professional uses to communicate with peers such as emails, mobile devices, etc.
In the professional industry, it is required of us to be able to present information using media
and other resources that using a technical device. During the introduction to this course, we were
taught about the importance of being able to write technically and present information
consistently using media as a resource. Technical communication is a tool that aid engineers to
be clear, consistent, and objective. A part of an engineer’s job is dealing with data that is not
always consistently presented and analyze such data. Then the engineer needs to be able to
present the data to his colleagues which requires the use of technical communication.
Technical communication makes data clear and understand to help company work efficiently.
Technical communication help employees understand and complete tasks successfully, it also
helps in the manufacturing of products related to the company’s goal. Prevent issues from
occurring with products made by the company. It is also very helpful in making sure that all
participants in a group project are able to working effectively and understand each part of their
tasks. As such, any professional engineer in the industry need the ability to communicate
technically to be able to work successfully.
