NATIONAL GUARD ESSAY RESPONSE
The United States Army National Guard is a dynamic career choice available to many citizens
abroad in our country. One key mark that established the deciding factor of my decision was the ability to
serve both the local community and the country. The National Guard is responsible for timely responses
to, domestic emergencies, reconstruction missions and other unique efforts. The decision of joining the
Army National Guard was a rather simple career choice for me. The leadership training, development and
the experience process birthed through the army is unmatched. Individuals in the Army National Guard
are granted patriotic access to national servanthood. As an officer, I am charged with the task of being a
difference maker in one of the highest capacities available. The Army National Guard also includes
benefits that serve the individuals who make the choice of serving their country. For me, as a college
student, the loathsome burden of paying off surmountable college debt will be relinquished from my
families’ dues unto my responsibility. The National Guard is a challenge that I am willing to bear, it is a
position that I am willing to take. As an officer, I welcome every new challenge that this position declares,
and I am ready to be equipped as an officer.
