T
he lecture notes and assigned readings for this module/week have provided introductory material
and an overview of American literature from the early Colonial period through the American
Renaissance/Romantic period. Provide reasons why it is important to study these periods of
American literature, especially from a Christian worldview perspective. Both your thread and your
reply must be well-planned, clearly articulated, and thorough.
Your thread is due by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Thursday, and your reply is due by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on
Monday.
American literature is significant to understand. A significant amount of people have no idea about the
past of history about America. It is always better to have an understanding of the past on American and
the history of it. Knowing the past and the history of America, can lead us to know what we want to be in
life and who has grown on us to aspire us. Christian faith is associated with American literature. As
Christians, we should know the history. It also allows us as Christians to evaluate the past in any culture.
If looking at American literature at a different angle such as a Christan should, it would help to see the
story told. We have to look at the bigger picture and stand behind what we know did happen back in that
time frame. When looking to refresh the memory of the Renaissance period, we will gain more knowledge
than we did back then. As grown adults, we get a better concept of the conflicts that occurred over the
years of the Renaissance. We can also learn from these situations and link them to our own personal
experiences and lives. An example of this is when hard times were mentioned including all the difficulties.
Things would change for the better and become prosperous. Daniel 1:17 states “As for these four youths,
God gave them learning and skill in all literature and wisdom, and Daniel had understanding in all visions
and dreams”.
