Step 2: Narrative Paragraph Rough Draft
Directions: Write a rough draft that follows your paragraph plan, beginning with your
topic sentence. Do not worry about spelling or grammar; just let your thoughts flow. End
with a good concluding sentence that restates your controlling idea or expresses a
thought that restates your dominant impression. It should be approximately 200 words,
no less and not too much more.
As I sat in a youth revival as I had so many times before not realizing this day would be vastly
different and that I’d hear from the Lord. The last service of the day began to commence that
would be concluding a three day youth revival filled with praise, deliverance, blessings, and the
overflow of God’s spirit. Now this service isn’t like a regular program service, in this program
there was a representation from each church and a selection from the church’s choir. As the
organ began to sing and the praise service started up I heard the Holy Ghost say do you see your
husband in the house? Taken a back I began to watch as each person came church by church
and song after song, and I must admit I was rather nervous as I was the representation for my
church and normally crowds make me nauseous and very sick . MY prayer before I greet any
audience of believers is that Christ showed and I decrease and he increase. As I mounted the
pulpit Gods prescense took full control and the Holy Ghost moved mightily through the
building. As my turn came to an end and the number of church representation began to dwindle
with the last church taking the pulpit I whispered to the Lord no . At the end of a firey service
the ailes filled with people from the pews hugging and bidding farewall to each other a young
fellow with green eyes haistly approached me with a pleatera of questions as he was bursting at
the seams with excitement . I noticed as you were exhorting he stated , and I was wondering if I
could have some sort of access to you . Taken a back allot I directed him to my youth pastor as I
felt his approval was always necessary and thought it would run him off. Preparing to get on
the bus to head back home after changing int o comfortable clothes for the ride this young man
grabs my hand and says I talked to your youth pastor last night about finding a wife , but he said
its okay. Although I wasn’t sold on the idea of this overly eager young man I gave him my
telephone number because if my pastor approved he must have been okay. A few days later I
talked to my now husband for the first time all night long about purpose, gifts, ministry, and
salvation. On our second conversation he told me I was going to be his wife and quite simply I
responded that the Lord didn’t tell me that just yet. A whole month later in the same church
while in town attending a funeral the Lord spoke once again “ For such a time as this it is okay
to go” , now I had been in prayer about this young man and whether it was of God or not and
when I heard the Lord speak I said no that is not you Lord. The Preacher got up on that Sunday
morning and stated the Lord has spoken.

Step 3: Narrative Paragraph Revised Draft
Directions: Copy your Narrative Paragraph Rough Draft (from above), paste it below,
click on “Tools” or “Review” if you are using Microsoft Word, and hit “Track Changes.”
This is so your instructor can see all the changes you make. Begin reading through your
rough draft and make changes to the content as you see fit. Add more descriptive words if
needed or delete irrelevant ones that do not help create your dominant impression. Add
transitional words or phrases to help the paragraph flow in a logical order. Then, save
the draft with the changes.
