Attitude/Point: When you hit rock bottom, it can be extremely difficult to overcome the

overcome an emotional barrier first.
Audience: These individuals struggle to keep a cheerful outlook and perspective on life,
despite avoiding substance misuse and other activities that could be hazardous to their
health. It is possible that they could improve their lifestyle if they were given the correct
guidance and encouragement.
Purpose: Substance abuse can lead to rock bottom. The right thing to do in these
situations is express compassion, understanding, and support. They also need help
developing alternative coping mechanisms for drugs and alcohol. It is the first step
towards help when you admit you need it.

I struggled with substance abuse and reached rock bottom. I was helpless and overwhelmed. I
had no control over my life and was destined to remain in the same circumstances indefinitely.
Thankfully, I received help and turned my life around. My life is now healthier and more
satisfying. I experienced loss of control, helplessness, hopelessness, and extreme sadness and
despair at my lowest point. I needed assistance, direction, perseverance, patience, courage,
resilience, discipline, and a firm belief in my own abilities to turn my life around. These crucial
elements allowed me to take back control of my life and build a better future for myself. I
experienced a sense of loss of control over my life when I battled substance abuse. I was in a
terrible place and didn't think there was any hope for improvement. I felt destined to remain there
forever, because I was caught in an addiction cycle. I am glad I asked for assistance, because
that's how I got the encouragement I needed to make a change in my life. I regained control of
my life through dedication, work, determination, and support from those around me. I began my
journey toward a healthier and more fulfilling life.
