My Parent's Journey into America
Ever since my parents came to the United States thirty years ago, I have gained a greater respect
for my parent's hard work. My father had been interested in studying Microbiology and soon after,
theology and my mother wanted to become a medical librarian. Once they both were at least seventeen
years old, my parents came into the United States and worked for endless hours until they graduated
and had gotten their masters in their specific fields. They each had only three-to-four hours of sleep
everyday and had to learn English while studying for their majors. Without their hard work and
dedication, my sisters and I would not be here and my parent's hard work taught me to never give up on
the goals I strive for.
