Educating today’s students requires a shift from traditional teaching methods. Dr.
Wimberley states, “traditional schooling is not equipped to address the needs of the digital
natives. For learning to occur students must be motivated and engaged” Wimberley (n.d.). 21

century students need to have a skill set that differs from the past, students need to be able to
think critically and be able to use problem-solving and decision-making approaches to learning.
Education should also involve learning effective communication skills, collaboration, ICT
literacy, civic engagement, and social responsibility. Educators need to use innovative and
