Case Study: Cultural Analysis Assignment
Culture is shaped by the individuals within the organization and is weaved within the
fabric of all organizations. Eastern Florida State College (EFSC) has four brick-and-mortar and
one online campus. “We are one college”, the mission and vision are to provide affordable
quality educational options to our diverse community, and we are proud of our commitment to
excellence. Although the institution is guided by the same policies and procedures, each campus
has its own distinct culture. Analysis of the institution through the cultural lens theory depicts the
decades long esoteric organizational culture. 5
Culture/Cultural Differences
Eastern Florida State College’s vision and philosophy is its commitment to being
the community’s center for quality teaching and lifelong learning. The college
emphasizes achievement, leadership, empowerment, integrity, and service to
students, colleagues, and the community. Key values and beliefs also include a
passion for learning, respect for the individual, continuous improvement, and
