Howard Gardner believed that we are all able to know the world through language, logical-
mathematical analysis, spatial representation, musical thinking, the use of the body to solve
problems or to make things, an understanding of other individuals, and an understanding of
ourselves. Howard Gardner’s multiple intelligences theory has helped educators to reflect on
their own practices and has given them a basis to broaden their focus and to attend to what might
assist people to live their lives well. Gardner states, “Because actual inference about
intelligences is problematic, however, educators should be cautious about characterizing the
intellectual profiles of students” (Gardner, 2014, p. 249). According to Gardner, educational
system assume that everyone can learn the same material in the same way and that a uniform,
universal measure suffices to test student learning. Students learn in ways that are identifiably
distinctive. A wide range of students would be better served if disciplines could be presented in
