INTRODUCTION TO PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING (PBL)
Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is a student-centered teaching pedagogy that aligns with
constructivist theory. Students learn through solving real-world problems. PBL transforms the
traditional teacher and student roles and provides students with critical thinking skills and
interdependence through collaboration.
TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION
Technology integration is the use of technology resources and tech-based
procedures. In the field of education, classrooms are now smart classrooms that use
computers, the internet, software applications, social media platforms, smartphones,
and digital cameras.
“Successful technology integration is achieved when the use of technology is:
Routine and transparent, Accessible and readily available for the task at hand, Supporting
the curricular goals, and helping the students to effectively reach their goals.” (Edutopia,
2007). The integration of technology in the classroom is quite beneficial to the teaching
and learning environment. For example, although there is some question on the benefits
of technology, research data from Cuban supports the significance of the use of
