Observation Protocols (OP)
The teaching profession is one that needs a constant assessment of all the actors, from
the teachers, the administration to the learners and out-of-school factors such as family
relationships. However, at the center of these, all is the need for assessing the teachers and
how they tailor their activities towards meeting the required lea ring criteria. In an
observation protocol, the observer witnesses the classroom session and notes the different
aspects of the learning process (Grimm et al., 2014). That way, drawing conclusions, scaling,
and grading the level of the teaching process becomes easy. Despite the universal importance
of observation protocols, the formula or the contents of an observation protocol checklist is
never the same across different states, institutions, or nations. Therefore, as an aspiring
administrator, one must have a comprehensive understanding of the several and diverse
observation protocols across different continuums. In regards, this paper will look at some of
the observation protocols and how they are applied in each region, context, and states. That
way, it will be much easier to identify the prevailing trend across each one and the varying
aspects of each (Grimm et al., 2014). Most importantly, completing this assignment will
provide an insight into developing a comprehensive and useful observation protocol
regardless of the region, context, or motive.
