Research Design
For my study, I will employ the action research design, which involves a systematic four-
step plan to address a specific problem within my classroom or school setting. This approach
allows me to actively engage with my students as participants in the research process, leveraging
their insights and experiences to inform interventions and improvements. The rationale for
selecting action research lies in its practical and collaborative nature, enabling me to directly
address real-world challenges in my teaching practice while also promoting professional
development and reflective teaching. As highlighted in the article “Applying Mixed Methods in
Action Research: Methodological Potentials and Advantages,” action research offers the
flexibility to tailor interventions to the unique context and needs of my students, fostering a
dynamic and responsive approach to problem-solving in education (Ivankova, N., & Wingo, N.
