QEP DPRP: Research Literature and Theoretical Support
Introduction
The research study is of a boy named Hunter Kellogg and a remediation plan
created by a tutor to help Hunter in his struggle with Letter Naming Fluency. This
topic is important because without being able to notice and define letters, he will be
unable to read and that affects him in all subject areas. If this issue is left untreated,
students will struggle to continue on in their education and quickly fall behind. The
educator must search for the proper research tools that will best help them aid to the
students needs. The first study I found is “A multi-sensory tutoring program for
students are risk of reading difficulties: Evidence from a randomized field
experiment.” The result of the one-on-one tutoring programs can be amazing because
it affects the attitudes and motivation of the students, which could influence the
effects the program has on the necessary literacy skills (Bog, 2021). The second
research tool I found was, “Examining the effects of kindergarten writing instruction
on emergent literacy skills: a systematic review of the literature.” This article states,
“Kindergarten writing instruction enhanced children’s early literacy outcomes” (Hall,
2022).
