PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION
After reviewing all the different philosophies of education and carefully examining all the
factors, I have determined that my philosophy of education is Romanticism. I truly believe that
education should be child-centered and that children learn best through experiences. As I looked
for a philosophy that best matches my view on how children should be taught, I was immediately
drawn to the Romanticist teaching techniques. Because I want to teach younger students, I think
Romanticism is the best fit to help them learn and grow as they experience life in new
environments. I feel that all ages can benefit from these learning strategies. Involving your
students’ interests and passions will help them become more engaged and invested in the school
work ahead of them. I am a very optimistic about life, so obviously I agree with the optimistic
outlook of Romanticism. I believe that there is hope for every child to do his or her best in a
classroom setting. As teaching professionals, it is our challenge to teach students in a way that
will foster their interests in the material and grow their love of learning.
