My Five Favorite Websites
1. Generation Genius
Generation genius is one of my top choices because it combines fun videos with
meaningful, standards-aligned lessons. The presenters explain math concepts using real-life

examples, which helps make stronger connections between what they learn and how it applies
to the world around them. The included teacher guides, discussion prompts and worksheets
make planning lessons easier and more effective. I appreciate how the content is designed to
capture student’s attention while promoting a deeper understanding. It’s a great resource for
introducing new topics in an engaging way.
2. Math Playground
I really enjoy Math Playground because it makes math practice feel like playtime instead
of work. The site’s games and puzzles allow students to strengthen their problem-solving skills
while having fun. I could easily use it during math centers or small-group instruction to reinforce
skills that we’ve already learned in class. The interactive manipulatives are great for helping
younger students move from concrete to abstract thinking. The site is a perfect way to keep
students motivated while supporting hands-on learning.
3. IXL Math
IXL Math is another favorite because it provides personalized learning opportunities for
every student. The adaptive platform identifies what each student has mastered and what they
still need to practice. I also like the detailed reports that help teachers plan targeted lessons or
interventions. Since the skills are aligned to state standards, it’s easy to connect IXL practice to
classroom objectives. This resource is perfect for independent practice., progress monitoring, or
differentiated instruction.
4. Kahoot!
Kahoot! is one of the most enjoyable ways to review material or check for
understanding. Students love the competitive, game-like environment, and it helps keep their
energy high during lessons. I would use Kahoot! to review before tests, introduce new topics, or
build teamwork through collaborative challenges. The instant feedback helps me see which
areas students struggle with so I can adjust my teaching accordingly. It’s a fun and effective tool
for building engagement and confidence in math.

offering a mix of visuals, audio, and hands-on tasks. It’s a valuable platform for both whole-
group instruction and individualized learning.
Conclusion
Each of the websites- Generation Genius, Math Playground, IXL Math, Kahoot!, and PBS
LearningMedia, offers something unique to support student success in math. Together, they
create a balance of fun, practice, and real-world application that appeals to different learning
styles. Using a combination for these tools would help me design lessons that are engaging,
data-driven, and accessible to all students. As an educator I plan to use these websites to build
confidence, encourage participation, and make math a subject that students truly enjoy
learning. By integrating these resources into my teaching routine, I can create a dynamic
learning environment that keeps students motivated and eager to explore mathematical
concepts.
