This website is tailored to reach kindergarten through eighth grade students. It features
animated music videos that can help students understand concepts through an auditorial and
visual understanding. It also features several lesson plans and teacher resources that teachers
can use to help facilitate information in a more engaging way.
Toy Theater
This website is tailored to reach preschool through eighth grade students. It features
several interactive games and manipulatives that covers mathematics topics. Toy theater allows
teachers to use several assessment tools that can help students practice and teachers assess
where a student is at in a topic.
Khan Academy
This website is tailored to reach all students who need extra understanding in different
math concepts. It features different video lesson plans, exercises and teacher resources so that
teachers can help students of all understand the material. Khan Academy can be used so that
students can learn at their own pace and help learn or stop under their own terms.
Prodigy Game
This website is tailored to reach students from grades kindergarten to eighth grade and
features several games to further students understanding of math concepts. Students are given
goals and challenges to complete that help make the games more interactive and engaging.
Teachers can use these to assess students and also reward students with free time while also
engaging them in gathering a better understanding of the material under the guise of having
fun.
Kahoot
This website is tailored for students of all grade levels and helps to make learning more
fun and engaging. Teachers are allowed to find topics that they are learning and engage
students in a fun review, or create quizzes or challenges based on the concept they’re learning.
After each question, students are given feedback and rankings that helps with learning in a
group setting.
IXL
This website is tailored for students of all grade levels and includes different interactive
games for students to engage in the material. The website also features different lesson plans
and resources teachers can use to help teach a topic. The teacher can also assign activities to
students that’ll help assess them and see where they are with understanding.

This website is tailored to students from kindergarten to sixth grade. It features
interactive games that help students understand material related to the mathematics common
core. It is free to play and provides students with visual manipulatives and story like games that
help keep students engaged.
Generation Genius
This website is tailored towards students from kindergarten to eighth grade. The website
features interactive videos that can be played during the middle or end of the lesson to help
students understand common core math standards. It also features teacher resources like
lesson plans and questions that will help students understand and engage in the material.
PBS
This website is tailored towards students from pre-kindergarten to twelfth grade. It
provides teachers with different resources such as interactive lesson plans and videos that will
help engage the students in materials. It features shows from the local PBS station that teaches
students in a more excited way
NCTM
This website is for teachers that teach from the pre-kindergarten to twelfth grade level.
The website provides multiple teacher resources created by experiences experts to help guide
teachers in teaching mathematical concepts. The website also provides updates and several
learning seminars for teachers to improve their teaching. It can help provide a professional
connection with other educators that can assist you in becoming better.
Khan Academy is one of my favorite websites from the list as I find that it is beneficial in
teaching mathematics if utilized correctly. It is a free platform that allows students to work at a
pace that is comfortable for them as the lessons are broken down into manageable portions.
The information is presented to students through clear detailed explanations that are followed
up with interactive assessment questions to measure their understanding. If students are still
struggling to grasp concepts, instructions on completing the activities are deconstructed into
step-by-step directions that allows them to review what is necessary for their mastery. As
teachers, we are given the chance to track students’ progress and see what concepts they are
mastering and what concepts we may need to further work on if a student is struggling. Khan
Academy offers several supports for our visual and auditory learners in a supportive
environment making it beneficial for students’ mastery of math concepts.
Another website that is resourceful for teaching mathematics is PBS Learning Media.
This website is another free resource that offers auditorial and visual learners a different way to
engage in content and learn the material. There are videos that are easier to engage students as
they are based off cartoons and shows from the PBS channel that some kids are already familiar
with. It offers several videos on math concepts and interactive games and lesson plans that
come from well reputable and trusted sources. Teachers are given built in resources such as
Lesson Builder or the quiz maker to fully customize the material so that it is tailored to meet the

needs of their students. For students who are English Language Learners, the videos and
materials offer the option of being played in different languages so that the students can learn
in their native language. For our students, PBS Learning Media offers great accessibility that
makes it a helpful aid in learning new material during instruction time.
IXL Math is another helpful site in targeting specific content and mathematic skills. The
website has multiple math assessments that are organized by grade level and content that also
aligns with the common core standards. It offers adaptive learning which tailors the difficulty of
the questions based off of students needs and how they are understanding the material and
answering questions. This system helps teachers facilitate the information without putting the
pressure on students to complete tasks on their own time. The teacher can assign certain
materials and content that will allow them to see the progress of students as it will create
reports which you can use to help create students’ goals. Although some features are blocked
by paywalls, IXL can help enforce skills and learning when companied with visual and hands-on
resources.
Generation Genius is a useful resource that offers real-world and relatable videos that
help students understand concepts using hands-on activities. The website offers many visuals
and interactive activities that allows for students to pace themselves which is beneficial to those
who typically struggle in math. The videos are anchored by real scientist and educators who
offer insightful information for our students that helps them understand the material. The
lessons that are offered on the website are partnered with guides and other resources such as
DIY activities that give teachers different ways to help students grasp the concept being taught.
Although it is also blocked by a paywall, it is beneficial for our visual and kinesthetic learners as
each lesson is clear and concise for scaffolded instruction.
Numberock is different from the other websites as it is a tool that helps teach math
through animated music videos and songs. The website is geared to help our auditory learners
learn math concepts through rhythm and repetition to help work on memory and keep their
attention on the material. The songs are great in explaining content, due to being catchy and are
also aligned with the common core standards. The website offers different materials like
worksheets and anchor charts to help teachers facilitate the material that is being taught. It
allows students to find mathematics fun as a lot of material can be remembered through the
simple tune and can be a great reward for students at the end or middle of a lesson to make it
engaging and fun. It is a great tool to review material and help it stick with our students.
In summary, the following five websites provide a different and more engaging way for
students to learn and engage in the material. Each website offers different ways and resources
that can help teachers facilitate the concepts and help students interact with materials. Through
accessible materials and visual learning, these platforms allow for students to become more
comfortable with the material and help them see the instruction in different ways than a
teacher teaching the concept. When combined with different materials, these may offer great
and different ways that become effective for each student in learning math concepts.
