regression, and sampling. This is aimed for higher level education students.
Interactivate allows students to participate in interactive activities. It provides teachers
with interactive lessons. It provides students with interactive simulations, interactive games,
virtual manipulatives, and interactive quizzes and activities.
Estimation- Hundreds allows students to play a matching game that makes them find a
card and round it to the nearest hundreds. It also provides students with a list of “terms” which
allows them to see which hundreds it is rounded to. There are also flashcards, matching,
concentration, and word searches students can complete.
Random Services- Apps is a website that helps students understand mathematical theories
in interactive ways. There are two kinds of different apps; simulation apps and data generation
apps. This online platform would be better used for students in high school or college.
Online Field Trip 6
Defeat the Fraction Monster allows students to play games that focus on fractions. This is
a good way to allow students to grow their knowledge with fractions and be more enjoyable for
the students. This platform allows educators to print out the activities for the students to
complete and hang around the classroom.
Maze Game allows students to practice plotting points. Students have to type in positive
and negative coordinates to get their play to the target spot. They have to be careful to not type in
coordinates that will make them land on a landmine.
IXL Math offers interactive math practice for students from kindergarten through high
school. IXL Math adapts to each student's skill level and learning pace. It provides personalized
recommendations and feedback based on the student's performance, helping them focus on areas
where they need more practice and challenge. It tracks students' progress and performance over
time, allowing them to monitor their own growth and improvement.
Kahoot! is a quiz based website that students can challenge their friends on. Teachers are
able to create their own quizzes to use a formative assessment with their students or as a review
before a test. Teachers can host a quiz after they have found or made one for the students.
Students have to have their own devices and be able to type in the pin code to play. Students try
to answer the questions as fast as possible as the quicker you answer the questions, the more
points you receive.
Favorite Websites
Cool Math games is a very beneficial website for students to be able to use within the
classroom. It allows students to play games on content areas they are learning or have already
learned. It also can introduce students to new content they have not been taught yet. Cool Math

games could be used as a reward system or an early finisher activity. There are so many games
that students can choose to base it off their favorite activities. Teachers could also use this
website as a whole class incentive and play as a whole group. I have done this before. When we
have had extra time at the end of the day, we would pull up cool math games and play as a class
different math games.
Kahoot! is another one of my favorite platforms to use with my students. It allows
educators to create quizzes to review with their students in a fun interactive way. It is a good way
to collect data for a formative assessment. The data allows the teacher to see if students need
more time on a given content or if they are ready to move on. Students really love Kahoot!
because it allows them to compete against their friends and win prizes. The more questions the
students get right and the faster they choose the right answer, the more points the students will
receive.
IXL Math is also another good math platform to have students work on. It allows the
students to work at their own pace on their own independent level. IXL actually allows you to
work on other subject areas as well as math. IXL allows you to create a roster for your students,
so you can assign students assignments. It provides teachers with webinars, skill plans, and
implementation strategies. IXL math would be a great platform to use as an intervention for
lower level learners within the classroom. It lets the teacher know the amount of skills practiced,
skills proficiency, skills mastered, and the amount of time students spent on their activity. IXL is
also linked to the Georgia state standards.
Generation Genius is a phenomenal platform educators should look into using. The
downside about generation genius is that it is pretty pricey if your district does not buy it. It does
give educators a 30-day free trial to experience the platform. Generation genius not only
Online Field Trip 8
provides math lessons and activities, it also provides science lessons and activities. The best part
of generation genius is that it is more on the kids level of fun and interest. The students love to
learn through other kids, so this is a great platform to allow them to do that. The videos show
students real life connections while completing math problems.
Figure This! is a new website that I was introduced to through completing this activity. I
really enjoyed how it sets the students up for challenges. When students are faced with
challenges, it makes them start to think outside the box with their learning. Another good thing
about Figure This! It allows students to go home and practice with their family under the family
corner tabs. When students feel safe and comfortable with their learning at home, they tend to be
more positive with their learning in the classroom. The good thing about Figure This! It is made
for all grade levels. It allows students to review measurement, numbers, statistics and
probability, geometry, and algebra. It also creates real world connections with the challenges it
sets for the kids.
Conclusion
Cool math games, Kahoot, IXL Math, Generation Genius, and Figure This! are all
interactive games that will allow students to advance their math skills whether they are reviewing
or seeing them for the first time. Students tend to learn better through game play, so allowing
them to be interactive with these platforms will set them up for success in the future. Students
tend to learn better when they have hands-on practice with their learning. Allowing students to
interact with their peers and learn at their independent level allows them to enjoy their learning.
When students are enjoying their learning, we are setting them up for success.
