With every new generation of students, it requires more innovations that will continue to
excel them forward. The way our parents were taught is completely different from the way our
children are being taught. Additionally, Covid -19 really changed the way students are taught in
the classroom. Technology was always a part of the learning environment but with the recent
pandemic, technology has become a major part of the learning environment. As a result of the
pandemic, many classrooms have a set of computers for the students to use while some schools
provide laptops for students to take home. As educators, to create the absolute best learning
environment, we must always be innovators. Education is forever changing and to fully prepare
students to be the next leaders of society, we must continue embracing change.
Covid–19 showed society the importance of online education. With society seeing how
important technology is, where do we go from here? With the increase in online education,
educators must create a positive and effective environment for online educations. The reason
why you want to create a positive and effective online environment is because you want
technology to a tool for student success within class. One way to foster a positive online
environment is to create strong engagement when your students. In a tradition learning
environment, educators are always engaging with their students. When it comes to the online
environment, educators are having to create more engagement. The reason for more engagement
is because since the educator isn’t face to face with their students, the educator must ensure that
each student has access to the educator. As referenced in an article by The Ohio State
University, open engagement fostered a positive environment for student success (Scheiderer,

2022). In addition to creating engagement, the educator must include effective and relevant
resources. Technology is a great advantage when it comes to enhancing the learning
environment. The right resources can create an immersive lesson that our parents couldn’t ever
imagine. A great example of having the right resources is during an astronomy lesson, a teacher
could livestream a presentation from a local planetarium. Livestreaming a presentation will
present the students with a unique experience that they wouldn’t get from sitting in a classroom
learning from a book. Julia Lopukhova and Elena Makeeva mentioned in their article “Creating
Virtual Learning Environment: Shared Online Learning in University Education” that creating
an immersive online environment can enhance learning behind ever imagined (Makeeva, 2017).
When implementing an online environment, it’s important for teaching to use all resources
necessary for creating the best environment and enhancing maximum learning Online education
is a great tool for facilitating academic growth. The best educators are the ones that can use
online and the tradition classroom effectively. An effective strategy for effective online
instruction is to always provide feedback. Providing feedback is a great way for students to
grow and understand where and what they are lacking. In my own classroom, whenever I
provide feedback to my students, I often allow them to make up the assignment if needed. As
stated by Michael Ralph in his article titled Teaching Strategies of Award-Winning Online
Instructors “Reflection and metacognition are essential to learning in any setting, and in an
online setting teachers must be intentional about helping students reflect (Ralph, 2020).”
Online education gives educators with more opportunities to provide more feedback to
students and also allow them to do more corrections if needed. In Scott Cooper’s article Why,
meaningful feedback is so important for Online Learning he mentioned “Providing effective
feedback helps eLearners get the most out of online materials and can have a significant impact

on overall learner performance outcomes.” Providing feedback is a great way of having open
communication among learners as it can increase their confidences. Learners will feel more
confident in their abilities when they are able to communicate effectively with their instructor.
Another strategy that can be effective is to offer a diverse range for all learners. Many k-12
educators provide differentiating instructions to their students because many of these students are
on different academic levels. In an online environment, an educator will have more resources to
be able to facilitate more differentiating instruction. The importance in offering differentiating
instruction is because when you have a diverse group of learners, the different instruction can
increase the overall growth among all students. You want to challenge the high learners and you
want to encourage the low learners and as a result, they all can build their confidence.
Christopher Pappas states in his article Differentiated Instruction in eLearning: What eLearning
Professionals Should Know “Differentiated instruction in eLearning meets the individual needs
of learners by custom tailoring not only the eLearning content, but also how the information is
conveyed and how learners demonstrate their understanding of the subject matter.” For your
students to achieve the most growth, differentiate instruction is the key into meeting all of your
student’s need (Robert L. Blomeyer, 2011). Online education is a great way to facilitate learning
and growth and with the right tools, learners can really prosper in this environment
Online education is growing in most classrooms. Each generation of students are
experiencing more technology than their parents. Creating the best online environment can
facilitate academic growth and learning. By having an immersive environment, students can
really explore topics on which they are learning. When educators provide consistent feedback,

learners can make the necessary corrections and are able to learn from their mistakes in real time.
Feedback is exactly how learners can growth from their mistakes. Additionally, educators need
to provide differentiated instruction to all students. The reason for differentiating instruction is
because many k-12 learners are all on different academic levels. Differentiated instruction
creates an environment that all can learn and be challenged by. The importance of differentiate
instruction allows for all learners to growth and gain confidence. Educators must continue to
foster and facilitate online engagement because technology is ever growing in our society.
Global events like the pandemic have increased the use of online education and with each
generation, it will be become more relevant.
