Building Kingdom Groups
I. Why Develop Small Groups
The biblical mandate for small groups was set forth by Jesus himself. In Mark 3:13-15
we read, 13 Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and
they came to him. 14 He appointed twelve that they might be with him and that he might [ ]a
send them out to preach 15 and to have authority to drive out demons.
We see later on in Acts the people of God operating in this capacity leading up to the day
of Pentecost. Acts 2:42-45 reads, 42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching
and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe
