role, system software must be functional, reliable, easy to use, efficient, maintainable, and
portable. A maintainable system should be designed to accommodate dynamic customer needs,
especially in the current age where change is inevitable. On the other hand, efficiency means the
system must use resources sparingly through proper responsiveness and memory utilization.
Each trait plays a significant role in the overall functionality of system software, satisfying user
requirements and establishing a seamless and interactive interface.
Effort distribution is an essential software development feature where developers
estimate each phase’s percentage to estimate production (Papatheocharous et al., 2017). Efficient
computation makes it easier to develop a project timetable that indicates milestones and
timelines, giving a favorable chance of project completion. Fundamentally, milestones break
down projects into small comprehensible components that can be allocated to different teams
keeping everything within the proposed schedule. Teams are encouraged to use automated
scheduling resources when possible and to, define the critical path and establish timelines for
efficiency.
As stated, proper time management is intrinsically crucial to the OLCRS project as it
guarantees efficient resource utilization and on-time accomplishment of milestones and
deliverables. Fortunately, project managers can utilize several time management strategies to
ensure everything runs within the proposed time limit. They include scheduling management,

determining activities, sequencing tasks, approximating durations, establishing schedules, and
managing schedules. Regular monitoring and benchmarking of current results against the initial
plan helps visualize the recent progress relative to the schedule.

as it defines requirements and outcomes, helping both clients and service providers understand
their positions. Thus, proposals must state expectations, inform budgets and timetables, and
visualize the final product. Most proposals are complex and challenging to implement, especially
when the team uses weak planning and review processes. Fortunately, developers can implement
several measures to enhance planning and estimation.
First, defining parallel activities in the OLCRS project would crucially help the teamwork
within the estimated timeline by enabling simultaneous task execution. However, the project
manager must ensure the team has a comprehensive scope of all the processes since everything
runs partially. Second, proper distribution is crucial for the team to ensure that people are
appropriately spread across the development phase. Ideally, the approach ensures adequate
members are available to resolve unprecedented issues that could derail progress. Thus, it keeps
the developers within the budget and timelines, benefiting the client and end-users.
Lastly, project milestones are crucial checkpoints for any software development project
that pinpoint progress and relative distance from the destination (Sunmola, 2020). Examples of
milestones include accomplishing necessary deliverables, completing a design phase, and
earning sponsor consent. The OLCRS project can accomplish such milestones by establishing
and distributing various tasks guided by specific start and end dates. A milestone chart is a

reliable tool that the team can utilize to track critical steps and keep everyone motivated and
informed on the progress. Overall, milestones and tasks ease the daunting project manager role,
significantly contributing to project completion and success.
