Notes
Every employee has one supervisor (who also is an employee). Thus, the self-referencing
relationship “Supervises” is needed.
One or more employees will serve as Project Manager on a given project during the life-
time of the project.
One or more employees are assigned to work on a project.
Projects are associated with a contract that a client has agreed upon. In addition, contract
types are specified in another entity, “ContractType.” Contracts can either be fixed priced
or based on rates per hour. The title and level of an employee will determine the billing
rate.
Projects are associated to only one contract, however there may be multiple projects in
one contract. In addition, clients may have more than one contract, but a contract is
limited to only one client.
Client contacts must be known for work related purposes among the sales reps, engineers,
and accounting clerks at CMS. Clients are in connection to contacts through the
“ConnectionTo” relationship between the Client and Contact entities. In addition, another
entity, “ContactType,” is used to differentiate between the different contact types required
by the different departments.
Hours are logged on a daily basis, and whether any hours are worked, an employee will
have a timesheet that a supervisor must approve.
