This article gives a clear view of Hugh Ross’ view on progressive creationism, and why
he thought the world was created over millions of years as opposed to thousands. It goes into
how peoples view of the Bible changed over Charels Darwins book, On the Origin of Species.
Mr. Mcgee addresses why peoples thought processes changed in the 1830s due to seemingly new
and important information that was brought to light by Darwin. As well as the two groups that
formed due to his information, the old-earth proponents that thought the earth was billions of
years old, and the young earthers, who thought the world was only a couple thousand years old.

This sources helps to better define what progressive creationism is, and why it is important to
know what it is. As Christians we need to be well versed in what others believe as well as strong
in the word of God. If we allow ourselves to know the information we can better answer others
questions and understand why some people think the way they do.

This source helps to give an in-depth look at young-earth creationist theories. The young earthers
believe that the world was created in six consecutive 24-hour periods. This goes against the
progressive creation theory as well in the fact that it is believed that the world is only thousands
of years old, rather than the billions that they are trying to make us believe. This source will help
to articulate in what stages the world was formed, and why is was actually in 24-hour periods.

I found this article helpful in giving background information on how young earth creationism
was first brought about. Growing up, I was always taught that the world was only thousands of
years old, and did not realize what a big deal the opposing views had. This source, and others,
has taught me the importance of the information I am learning in this class, and this source will
help me relate this learned information in my paper.

This source gives a view on many of the different theories surrounding creation. It is going to
help round out my paper. It gives solid information on the different ways of thinking that
scientists have formed over Genesis 1-2. Science has a major role to play in the theory of earths
creation, and sometimes scientists have used theories to interpret Gods word instead of just
relying on the information they were given in the Bible. Too often we read into was is said or not
said, and wrong ideas are formed because of that thinking.
