ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
OVERVIEW
You will write a Research Paper: Final Assignment on Trauma Assessment and Interventions
in three stages within this course. For this Research Paper: Treatment and Interventions for
Crises Assignment, you will complete the third stage of your research paper. Please read the
entire instructions for this assignment.
INSTRUCTIONS
For this assignment, you will identify two to three treatments/interventions to use with clients in
trauma or crisis. These interventions do NOT have to align specifically with your types of crises
presented in Research Paper: Overview of Specific Crises Assignment, but they may.
Remember, interventions are simply exercises used with clients in session to aid in the healing
process. Example interventions include the following: mindfulness, empty chair technique,
cognitive reframing, EMDR, etc. For each treatment or intervention, incorporate in-text citations
from scholarly sources. Be sure to thoroughly explain the treatment or intervention, how to apply
the intervention with a client in trauma, and how the intervention can help clients process their
traumatic experiences.
Please include the following:
Must be 3 pages in length
o The title page is included in this length
o The reference page is excluded from this length
o No abstract, introduction, or conclusion is needed
Follow current APA formatting
This assignment must include a minimum of two (2) scholarly sources consisting of the
James and Gilliland (2017) course text and one additional source of your choosing
(scholarly articles/books).
o Remember, scholarly sources include peer-reviewed journal articles and academic
books.
