Methods-Part One
You must provide support from the peer-reviewed literature for the methods used in this
paper. See the Article Critique presentation for more information. Consider feasibility when
drafting the proposal as well as quality. The proposal must be written in such a way that you
could implement the proposal. This section of the Proposal Paper must be no more than 1 page.
Procedure and Sampling
Procedure. Describe (concisely and briefly) each step of the experimental procedure that
the researcher took.
Sampling. In this section consider the following: How did you obtain your sample? Was
it random, stratified, convenience, etc.? (Select a realistic and feasible method; it is often difficult
to obtain a random sample.) How did you obtain your sample? Did researchers visit a university
classroom to recruit participants? How would you describe the sampling methods used? Why
was this sampling method used?
Participants
Describe research participants under this heading. Remember to maintain confidentiality.
Include gender, ethnicity, and other demographics.
Setting
How would you describe the setting of the research study? Is there another sub-section
for setting (where did the research take place)?
