Trauma, Development, and Spirituality
People react differently to certain situations in life; age is a factor that contributes to the
different reactions. Events with a negative impact on a person tend to bring up negatory
emotions, which may change the individual's perspective on certain things; this is trauma.
Trauma can greatly impact a person’s life and greatly change their social, mental, and physical
health, especially if experienced during the formative years (Frydman & Mayor, 2017). Children
who experience trauma grow into adults with emotional imbalance exhibiting behaviors that
connote overreactions on rather minute matters. Trauma contributes to drug abuse and the
tendency of an individual to engage in risky behaviors that endanger them and the people close.
