Abstract
(talk about human development through the lifespan)
“You cannot predict the outcome of human development. All you can do is like a farmer create
the conditions under which It will begin to flourish” a quote introducing chapter one of,
Counseling Individuals Through the Lifespan, depicting perfectly how I was taught to view my
time here on earth (Robinson, 2015, p. 3). Human development is a very complex and
complicated experience in which every single individual here with us today has experienced in
one way or another, and it is due to one’s experiences, up-bringing, and genetics that we can
analyze their human development and how they got to where they are today. Each individual has
completely separate experiences and a complex nature vs. nurture that stands as the underlying
reason they think, process, operate, function, and live the way that they do today. In order to
fully and entirely understand someone, you must dig deep into their past, all the way back to
their time in the womb, up until their stage of life they are in now following every major and
important milestone. So today, we are both going to dig deep into my past time up until today
age of
twenty-three in order to fully grasp my human development and what has made me who I am
today.
