today's youth culture?

Worldview that positively impacts today’s secular youth. Christian worldview must be
intentional, personal, and relatable to the current culture.
Proposal
Pearcey (2005) claims that Christianity is not simply an absolute truth; it is the whole
truth about the entire reality. In today's culture, the youth seem to be walking away from what
was once undisputable: Scripture was truth, and it was God's absolute truth. Today's youth are
more concerned about their individual success and material prosperity, as Pearcey calls it in her
book, "idols of the heart" (Pearcey, 2005).
This paper intends to motivate every believer to understand and have a clear Christian
worldview to teach, minister, and encourage every young mind and heart that, indeed, it is
important to have a promising career and good things in life. However, one must never forget
what is more important than anything in this life and this world. Love the Lord with all one's
mind, body, and spirit. (Matt. 22:37). Being intentional, personal, and relatable to the current
culture will give the believer an excellent opportunity to share the Christian values, beliefs, and
faith in those hearts that may believe that what matters is everything related to the material
culture of today.

Annotated Bibliography
Cole, G. A. (2022). What is a christian worldview? Faithlife Corporation.
Thinking wisely and doing ministry with conviction is a must if the believer is to impact
the lives of the youth. Everyone has a worldview; everyone has a point of view. One
problem in today's culture is the youth's views on life. If the Christian worldview is not
coherent, the youth will adhere to anything that makes sense.
Cole asks honest questions that encourage the readers to apply God’s Word as the answer
to so many questions. The intention is to make people see the world as Jesus Christ did in
His earthly ministry.
Dockery, D., & Wax, T. (2019). Christian worldview handbook. B&H Publishing Group.
The believer must have as much information from as many Christian scholars as possible
to be able to teach, disciple, and care for every young man and woman who has questions
about the difference between the secular worldview and the Christian worldview. This
handbook will allow the writer of this paper to acquire invaluable tools to learn how to
defend and share the truth, hope, and values. In turn, the believer will be in an excellent
position to invest all this wisdom and knowledge with every young person.
Downey, D. E. D., & Porter, S. E. (Eds.). (2009). Christian worldview and the academic
disciplines: Crossing the academy. Wipf & Stock Publishers.
Christian students in secular post-secondary institutions are having a challenge to their
faith from professors and peers alike, who believe that holding to the Christian faith and
going after a college education is impossible. This book is helpful to prepare the believer
to demonstrate it is possible to apply their faith to any particular academic endevour.

Goheen, M. W., & Bartholomew, C. G. (2008). Living at the crossroads: An introduction to
christian worldview. Baker Academic.
This book is important to the development of this author’s paper as it deals with
education, economics, politics, and the church. Today’s youth is having to deal with what
Scripture declares and what the postmodern culture believes. The believer must be able to
provide a credible fundamentals belief of Scripture that will counteract the postmodern
beliefs that every youth is getting in the school system, and in culture in general. Goheen
gives a concise explanation of how Christians should deal with the tensions between
biblical truths and postmodern culture.
Irving, J. A., & Strauss, M. L. (2019). Leadership in christian perspective: Biblical foundations
and contemporary practices for servant leaders. Baker Academic.
In order to give the youth a better understanding of a concise Christian worldview is
necessary to also have a solid foundation in servant leadership. This book teaches solid
contemporary theories regarding transformational leadership, authentic leadership and
servant leadership which are important foundational truths that must be reflected in a
Christian worldview.
Kraft, C. H. (2003). Worldview for christian witness. William Carey Publishing.
The issue of comparing generations and customs of various people has always been a
concept that has been dealt with for many years. This book studies cultural and
worldview assumptions that have been given much data to research and used when
approaching today's youth. From this data, one can better understand different cultures
that represent different creative approaches to life. If the believer intends to affect the life

of every young man and woman positively, he must study cultures and views and
compare them to what a Christian worldview is about.
Moreland, J. P., & Craig, W. L. (2017). Philosophical foundations for a christian worldview.
InterVarsity Press.
Today’s youth ask the questions that have been asked from generation to generation. If
the believer is to affect the heart and mind of today's youth positively, there must be a
philosophical foundational point of view. This book gives the reader a comprehensive
philosophy from a Christian worldview. Clear Christian answers to such questions as
What should we believe? What is truth? Is there a God?
Worldviews and worldly arguments are outlined respectfully and with fairness. The
believer must know secular theories and arguments to counter every secular question with
a sound and solid biblical argument.
Smith, J. K. A., & Stassen, G. (20090. Desiring the kingdom: Worship, worldview, and cultural
formation. Baker Academic.
The youth is always full of desires, passions, and things they love. Understanding these
motives should motivate the believer to teach, instruct, and motivate every youth to be
passionate, love, and desire the things of God’s kingdom. Smith’s intention in this book
is precisely to motivate, educate, and instruct the believer to be intentional, personal, and
relatable to the current culture.
Tyra, G. (2015). Pursuing moral faithfulness: Ethics and Christian discipleship. InterVarsity
Press.
The youth today seem to be in a state of moral crisis. They seem to lack the ability to
evaluate the difference between a secular worldview and a Christian worldview. This is

one major reason that the believer must be prepared to inspire, teach, and encourage the
youth to have a clear view of the differences between the secular and Christian
worldview. Tyra gives an approach to developing a Christ-centered, Spirit-enabled ability
to do the will of God in any moral situation.
Wong, K. L. & Rae, S. B. (2011). Business for the common good: A christian vision for the
marketplace. InterVarsity Press.
Today's youth enter the labor force to earn as much money and acquire as many material
things as possible. Of course, that drive to accomplish is not wrong in itself. However, as
the youth is getting ready to join the workforce, it will be beneficial for each young
woman and man to go in with a clear viewpoint, which is to say, they understand their
calling, which is to do everything as to the Lord. This book instructs the reader to
implement faithful strategies requiring courage, devotion, and obedience to God's Word.
Reading this book is essential because it shares valuable information. Understanding that
without a biblical framework, the believer is likely to drift with the winds of secular
'wisdom' From this book, the believer will be challenged to think and act under a
Christian worldview that, in time, will affect today's youth to become a more efficient
and trustworthy employee.
