The fundamental and most crucial goal that federal government security organ seeks to
accomplish is to understand the nature, patterns, trends, and other critical aspects of terrorism.
One way of achieving this objective is through a coordinated approach where various security
institutions jointly undertake security operations. The United States Intelligence Community (IC)

comprises 17 unique security agencies and subordinate entities committed to collecting,
appraising, reporting, and interpreting intelligence data to bolster anti-terrorism efforts (Mulligan
