Abstract
Police officers are at a higher risk for developing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) due to
the aggravated chances of interacting with situations that are trauma inducing. This paper will
analyze the current research on the topics of post-traumatic stress disorder relating to police
officers and the subsequent effects it can have. Some of the factors that will be analyzed are
depression and anxiety, suicidal ideations, and other health problems. This article will also
include a developed analysis of the coping mechanisms given to police officers, as well as
