At one time, I was working in an organization where the supervisor could make decisions
without confronting the brutal facts. He could not give us chance to speak our side of the story
and defend ourselves. In this way, he did a lot of injustice to us. Besides, there was a broken trust
and a cit in communication because we felt that we will not be heard even if our ideas sounds
great.
I also worked in an organization where the supervisors could confront the brutal truths regardless
of whether they were good or bad. There was open and ongoing communication between the
employees and the top managers. The supervisors allowed the employees to air their opinions
concerning an issue. There was also room for feedback from employees which enabled the
supervisors to evaluate themselves and assess the areas they needed to improve on. This practice
led to great job satisfaction and workers were motivated to keep working for the organization.
The contrast between the two environments necessitates the need to confront the truth. For
example, in the first environment, the supervisors exercised a lot of dictatorships and viewed
their employees as inferior. It implies that their opinions could not be heard and the supervisor
