IMPLEMENTING A STRATEGIC WORK PLAN.
Abstract.
A strategic work plan is a technique often prepared by management that outlines an
organization's upcoming defined goals and goals to short achievable milestones for stable and
predictable growth. A strategic plan minimizes entropy and maximizes negentropy. The
document also highlights the steps required to reach the desired goals. From different
perspectives or perspectives, it can be termed as a methodology in a specific route for growing a
doable, steady, and strong organization (McNamara, 2009). The purpose of having a work plan
is to outline long-term goals by acting following both the document, the uncertainty and
opportunities faced by the organization, and improving productivity.

IMPLEMENTING A STRATEGIC WORK PLAN.
Introduction
A strategic plan aids a firm in focusing its energy on its goals and ensures members of the
associated firm work together towards the same goal to assess as well as correct directions in
response to the immediate situation (Thompson and Strickland, 2004). It is a discipline that
shapes and guides what an organization is, what it does, and the reason behind doing it. Strategic
planning better's decisions making as information is based on vision and strategy. Most decisions
based on hiring and setting systems to investments fall in line with the plan set. It eliminates any
This solves any tension and misunderstanding of goals. Service quality is also improved, and
accurate value measure, and contributes to improved retention and development.
A fast-food restaurant will be used in the paper as a sample business. This paper highlights a
strategic plan, implementing a strategic intelligence process, its benefit to a business, and
highlighting some reviews of this management plan method. This report determines several
critical objectives for an organization and justifies why each of the mentioned objectives is vital
to its success.
Strategic planning has been explained in various but complementary ways by different authors
and scholars. McDowell (2016) claims that strategic planning, which focuses on making optimal
strategic decisions, is management by plans, an analytical process. McDowell (2016) clarifies
that three critical elements in the strategic planning phase help transform a firm's vision or
purpose into a concrete decision and strategic execution. The strategic review involves
identifying the company's course in terms of vision, purpose, and objectives.
The idea of planning originated from Third World countries' development efforts and
experiences as they embraced planning as the critical method in quest of their financial and

social expansion. Strategic planning is seen as zeroing in on policymaking, data, as well as the
future. The process of planning includes various steps, which will be highlighted below.
These elements are applied during the incubation part of a business idea. An example can be in
the selected case study to elaborate this further.
A challenge in business is a condition that causes a variance between the desired and the actual
performance. Moreover, a factual issue usually may not have an instantly visible answer. It can
be said to be the starting point for a product vision to come up with. The case strategy aims to
narrow down an extensive area or populace into a simply researchable one and define a unit in
detail (Bell, 2009).
(Practical example, P.E) Fast food in the area I dimed it fit as the community around comprises
of busy working-class members and students. These are people who find no time due to their
busy schedule, and in the area, there is only one coffee/breakfast restaurant creating a gap for
food restaurants. The population in question is seen to express dissatisfaction with the lack of
food restaurants by ordering from neighbouring towns.
A strategy is created after one decides on a niche in the community they are going to solve. This
is usually a unique aspect that has its demand high. After the niche is identified, the management
creates extraordinary measures to find a solution. When finding a niche and creating an original
mission, key points include Assess your passions and ability. Find out if your niche has a
demand. Narrow your niche down. For yourself, check out the competition. Get your niche
checked. This is highlighted in-depth in the book by McDowell (2016), where he explains the
process. Apart from identifying, there is scouting of feedback from the target population on the
opening's actualization and demand.

(P.E) The problem at hand is offering food solutions. The bigger picture in this is that its growth
could lead to subsidiaries opening in other towns or states. At hand is the total absence of an
immediate large-scale competitor. The main challenge is identifying a menu that is acceptable to
the intended customers and in compliance with the location's morals. The population is
distributed evenly, with other races equally settled in it., there needs an accommodative menu
with prices evenly distributed. The workforce in need can be sourced outside the area, but a large
portion of labor would be sourced in order to increase acceptability in the region. Suitable spaces
for set up are available but need few adjustments in line with the organization's set theme.
A conceptual framework can be defined as the visual representation that explains the anticipated
relationship between cause and effect in a business setting. A conceptual framework's aims are
threefold:
1. The overview of current practice-These is the practices in a market or the immediate
environment. They dictate how to come up with internal policies in line with the
immediate population way of life.
2. The prescription of future practice; this is how execution and service delivery will be
done. It can also include the physical appearance of the organization.
3. The classification of keywords and fundamental issues
The aims describe the priorities and objectives, and the basics are the fundamental principles that
help accomplish those goals.
(P.E) Fast foods would specialize in organic food alongside fast foods and snacks. Organic foods
are actual meals that may also comprise several course meals, whereas fast foods are typical junk
snacks. Examples of organic food include but are not limited to vegetables served alongside rice
with salad toppings and soup. In contrast, fast food may consist of burgers, chips, etc. setting of

the place would be accommodative to give privacy and space to those eating different meals. The
aim would be to provide customer satisfaction and link their desires to functions in the
organization.
Reference terms describe the function and processes of an entity that operates to achieve an
objective. Reference terms show how to identify, create, and verify the object in question. In
establishing reference words, one considers how decisions will be taken regarding the
assessment evaluation spectrum. Produce the Terms of Reference. Get the appraisal team
involved. Manage the creation of the methodology for assessment. Manage the production,
including logistics, of the assessment work plan. The participants clearly define efficient
Conditions of reference: the function, structure, and operating rules of the council. It describes
duties and obligations for the board, senior officials, and support staff. It is created
collaboratively, and the whole council approves it. Reading and understanding it is simple. As
the essence of the council's work changes, it will shift (2021).

Provide accountability to the board on the progress of work.
Provide documentation needed for the licensing process.
See to launch of the facility.
Other functions are outlined or discussed after that.
Advisory group members will expect: that complete, accurate, and relevant information will be
presented to each member promptly. That appropriate time will be given to make critical
decisions. To be alerted to possible threats and problems that may affect the project, as
transparent and truthful conversations occur, without resorting to false statements.
Meetings:
Mark Smith of the Sameer group will chair all official meetings. The meeting quorum will be
when all are present. Decisions made should get further approval from the board before
implementation. Meeting minutes and facilitation will be done by an outsourced party assigned
to this group. Meetings will be held on communication by the chair at the specified locations.
Amendment:
These Terms of Reference can be revised, amended, or changed in writing by the Advisory
Group members after consultation and agreement.
A project work plan helps you to identify a project's criteria, steps for project preparation,
priorities, and team members involved in the project. You will outline the required main action
steps in project planning, the specifications, and who is involved in each action phase within
each purpose. Creating a work plan for a project is the five phases of project management,
including conception and initiation, preparation, implementation, performance/monitoring, and
project closure.

IMPLEMENTING A STRATEGIC WORK PLAN.
(P. E) The advisory group, in the duration of a fortnight, formulated The project plan. They
highlighted steps such as visiting identified sites and having the public safety group check on the
required standards. A maximum of only three top locations was presented to the board for
choosing. They further outlined the renovation suggestions in line with the theme to be done. On
approval milestone set work was rolled out to be completed in four working weeks. Milestones
did set the criteria to mark the progress of the task.
The immediate environment directly determines the collection of data. The methods top applies
to depend on the accuracy required, validity and reliability, time and cost, and utilities. The
interview makes it possible to collect the qualitative data necessary to fulfill the study's particular
objectives. In order to standardize the interview situation, interview guides are also used to ask
the same question in the same way. The interviews are expected to achieve higher response rates
by using testing questions (Saunders, Lewis & Thornhill, 2009). Previous records or materials to
complement the interview guides' data were used as secondary data sources. Also, the literacy
and response method preferred by the target population is directly considered. The information
gathered is then compiled to perform further research and compare individual sources more
efficiently and effectively. The simplifying data method to make it comprehensive is data
analysis (Gill & Johnson, 2006). An assessment is then carried out to decide if the goals and
priorities have been achieved.
(P.E) the immediate population was found to be literate and tech-savvy. It was unanimously
agreed that the best way to collect data would be through questioners submitted via the online
platform. Other forms were not ignored; hence interviews and observations were to be used in
this process. This task was to take a maximum of five days, including the weekends where much
traffic was observed to be.
9
IMPLEMENTING A STRATEGIC WORK PLAN.
Afterward, a group of four data analysts was involved in compiling and evaluating the data. The
task was assigned for two days since most required processing with a computer. The results were
later compared to others and set criteria, and a report was presented to the advisor group and the
board.
The generation of hypotheses focuses on how awareness of possible assumptions that should be
taken into account during the evaluation of assumptions is enabled. There are few benefits to
creating an excellent testable hypothesis, which forces one to think deeply and explicitly about a
study's findings. This aids one in contemplating the significances of the problem and the various
factors involved in the research. This allows us to make correct predictions based on previous
studies.
After the study of the report based on data collection, more insights into this project were noted.
The Menu proposed was decided to change based on different days and reflect the diverse
cultures surrounding us. It was also decided it would be a twenty-four hours' restaurant because
the traffic was evenly distributed with the hours. The security of the area, but for the restaurant,
would be enforced by night guards and CCTV cameras in critical areas. Advertising of the work
was to include social media as most people believed in reviews based online. The creation of
sales offers would be evenly distributed within the month to attract more customers. In the
future, the facility would offer food deliveries before opening branches in areas deemed high
traffic in case of expanding. This and other significant points were discussed in this stage of
strategic planning.
According to Berman (2009), the strategy's execution is how a selected plan is put into effect. To
realize the best alignment of individuals, structure, processes, and resources to attain a firm's
goals requires the design and management of systems. They need to be enforced after plans have
10
IMPLEMENTING A STRATEGIC WORK PLAN.
been developed; they are of no use until they are efficiently decoded into action. This is
important to keep companies competitive and relevant to existing market drifts (Aosa, 2002).
Implementation of policies is primarily an internal administrative task. This includes working
with others, organizing, encouraging, building community, and developing clear ties between
strategy and how it works. It also requires translating formulated plans into viable operations to
deliver its desired results within the targeted timeframe. Goal outcomes may be an organization's
projected levels of financial performance or the quality of service delivery. Implementation of
the plan entails a range of activities, such as resource mobilization, transformation, cultural
changes, technical changes, process changes, policy, and leadership changes. Staff planning and
coordination of strategic plans and the planned improvements to avoid resistance to change are
also available (Thompson and Strickland, 2004).
(P.E) All set out points emerging from reports and recommendations passed by the board of
directors to enable implementation. Once approved, the execution takes place within the set time
frame and also using the set criteria. Milestones are marked to ensure no one in the process is left
out. When an opening comes, new strategies are set to guide the targeted audience's delivery of
intended services. The key focus is to expand the enterprise to different branches. Delivery is to
be top-notch after setting up a facility that attracts by passing customers.
Strategic planning offers continuity of actions for an organization and guarantees that
organizational divisions operate towards the same goals and intent. It reinforces service delivery.
Strategic planning has steadily developed in the public sector. Influential companies are those
who can deliver products and services to the consumers who want it, where they want it. In the
amount, quality, and the price they want it, according to parker and Mathews (2008), thereby
delighting rather than merely pleasing customers. As the final decision-makers for business deals
11
IMPLEMENTING A STRATEGIC WORK PLAN.
and product transactions, consumers are becoming the whole body for businesses, so the
importance of designing strategic strategies to maximize service delivery to customers and all
stakeholders is significant.
A few elements define quality service delivery, which differs according to the nature of an
organization's industry and goods. Empathy, the careful, individualized consideration that the
organization gives its customers and assurance to create trust, is vital. With defined contact
networks, a company should also ensure that there is reliable and good customer service. The
delivery of quality customer service should be responsive and adaptive to changing consumer
needs, ensuring sustainability, accessibility, timeliness, efficiency, and reliability. This can
usually be summarized to define the requirements and specifications of customers and, in
response, the company creates goods and services that satisfy and meet the needs of customers
(Keung, 2007).
The set question seeks to understand the applicability of McDowell's elements of the strategic
work plan. The elements include:
An original task.
A conceptual framework.
Problem definition.
Terms of reference.
A project work plan.
Data collection method.
Collation and evaluation methods.
A hypothesis generation.
12
IMPLEMENTING A STRATEGIC WORK PLAN.
These elements are critical in forming step guides to incubate an idea of addressing a
community's niche. As illustrated with the example of a food restaurant, the sequential and
practical method has been highlighted. Therefore, it is right to say that all of McDowell's
elements should be addressed for a robust and workable plan.
I also find it necessary to submit that Strategic Intelligence cannot be met in an event where the
niche does not be in guideline with society's ethics. They must all fall in line.
In general, the results can be used as a catalyst for improved service delivery to enhance policy
creation, execution, and management procedures.
