Abstract
An organization is an entity which consists of three important issues, being that of structure,
purpose, and activity. Criminal justice organizations are defined by the same issues.
Administration is defined as management and justice is defined as doing what is fair and right.
Therefore, the administration of justice is when the government uses its power to enforce the
rules of right and fairness. For many Christians their worldview on administration of justice
organizations is viewed specifically as groups within government which provide a form of
righteousness and order within society. This includes organizations which provide justice that
represents righteousness and God’s character. This includes making sure that justice is
administered with mercy as well as impartially, protecting those in society who are vulnerable
(such as women, children, special needs individuals), and upholding the rule of law.

REFLECTION
Administration of Justice Organizations Worldview
Administration of justice organizations are basically the various organizations within the
criminal justice system. They are seen as organizations because they are an entity which is
defined by three important issues: structure, purpose and activity (Stojkovic et al., 2015). This
includes organizations such as courts, corrections, and law enforcement. These organizations
within the criminal justice system can often be described as rich in politics due to their
intimidation practices, negotiating and bargaining. After all the goal of an organization is to
pursue goals and the administration of justice organizations are no different than other
organizations in respect to the concept of pursuing goals. Criminal justice agencies or
organizations often must use legitimate coercive force to control its citizens and as Christian this
can have a profound impact on the view of the organizations. A Christian or Biblical worldview
sees administration of justice organizations as being the ones who are righteous and provide
order within society through the reflection of God’s standards which includes His character and
righteousness.
Administration of Justice: Leadership, Organizational Models, and Theory
Leadership is defined as a process which assists in mobilizing and directing people as
well as their ideas. Organizations within the criminal justice system must focus on leadership so
they are able to establish direction for their various organizations so they can successfully
develop a vision for their future. This includes inspiring and motivating individuals to share their
vision and assist in moving it forward.
There are several organizational models which are associated with administration of
justice organizations. Frederick Taylor and his closed-system view reflect organizations that are

considered unresponsive to their environment and considered self-contained (Stojkovic et al.,
2015). The closed-system view has been seen as too simplistic. Regarding the administration of
justice organizations, it limits causes to only internal and does not view external causes. The
open-system theory focuses on understanding organizations as being influenced by their
environments (Stojkovic et al., 2015). Within the criminal justice system its not just about what
happens internally, it is about the complex and dangerous world we live in and how it impacts
the administration of justice organizations.
Personal Worldview in the Context of the Administration of Justice
For many Christians their Biblical worldview of administration of justice organizations is
viewed as the groups within government that provide righteousness and order within their
society. This includes organizations which provide justice that represents righteousness and
God’s character. Several Scriptures discuss righteousness and fairness. One of my favorites
would be Micah 6:8, “He has told you, O man, what is good; andBwhat does theBLordBrequire of
you but to do justice, and to love kindness,Band toBwalk humbly with your God?” There must be
an emphasis on making sure that justice is administered with mercy as well as impartiality,
protecting those in society who are vulnerable (such as women, children, special needs
individuals), and upholding the rule of law.
Christians accepted the administrative and legal context of the Roman Empire and
developed their religious and ethical views within this frame (Schroter, 2017). Christianity has
developed its own perspective on legal and ethical matters, and this extends to the administration
of justice organizations. Compassion, justice, and fairness are central principles of a Christian or
Biblical worldview and should be used as a framework for those who are involved in decision
making and the actions that they take within the administration of justice organizations.

McGee and Benk (2019) conducted a survey of 30,000 Christians based on responses from
a World Values Survey focusing on their Christian view of tax evasion. A majority (61%) of the
Christians surveyed viewed tax evasion as illegal and never justified and encouraged
administration of justice organizations to pursue corporations and individuals who break such
laws.
Conclusion
Administration of justice organizations is necessary to provide a form of righteousness and
order within society. An organization is an entity which consists of three important issues which
include structure, purpose, and activity. Criminal justice organizations are defined by the same
issues. Administration is defined as management and justice is defined as doing what is fair and
right, therefore it is the management of organizations that do what is fair and right. From a
Biblical worldview, administration of justice organizations represents God’s character as well as
righteousness. It is through these groups within the government that order may be maintained
within society.
