REFLECTION 2
Abstract
Administration of Justice organizations consist of leadership within the structure, purpose, and
activity of the organization. In order for the system to run effectively, the leadership policies and
procedures are carried out by; law enforcement, the prosecutor's office, and the department of
corrections. These organizations work hand in hand to ensure the community’s safety, while
focusing on the vision of justice to all. These organizations have a high level of authority and
serve as leaders for the community. It is crucial that each organization is serving and maintaining
a level of inspiration for the citizens of the community. It is important to understand that the
worldview of these organizations are constantly changing. This reflection paper will provide a
clear understanding of the Administration of Justice Organizations and how they operate.
REFLECTION 3
Administration of Justice Organization Worldview
Within the organizations, leaders establish direction by developing a vision of the future,
align people through shared values and vision, and motivate and inspire people to move them
toward a shared vision. (Kotter, 1990) All of the organizations within the criminal justice system
share a common goal to protect and to serve the community. It is safe to say that things are
constantly changing not only in the general game of life, but also within society itself. Day by
day, these organizations are experiencing a great amount of challenges that require many
difficult decisions regarding the criminal justice system. These decisions not only impact the
organization, but the citizens of the community, and the public as a whole. If the organizations
fall behind with the implementation of these constant changes, it is possible that the relationship
with the community could result in mistrust and failure. It is important that organizations are
providing a clear vision and directions on how it can be achieved with the community. It is often
that victims have more trust in the criminal justice system since they have been on the side of the
prosecutor’s office opposed to defendants. ”Those who have not been victims of a crime have
more positive views of the CJS to the extent that experiencing victimization can worsen one’s
views of the CJS.” (Dull & Wint, 1997)
Administration of Justice: Leadership, Organizational Models, and Theory
Leadership is a must when it comes to almost any role within the criminal justice system.
However, leadership requires an explicit understanding that work can be accomplished in a
dynamic world within an open system that anticipates changing environments and prepares for
future demands. (Stojkovic, Kalinich, & Klofas, 2015) Organizations must be able to
communicate and work together in order to achieve success and safety within the community.
REFLECTION 4
Personal Worldview in the Context of Administration of Justice
The administration of justice impacts how individuals interact and behave daily. It is
crucial that these organizations work together efficiently to achieve the clear vision of the good
of the community. As a current employee of the Commonwealth attorney's office, I am able to
understand the importance of leadership to be able to be successful in this field of work. I am
also able to confirm the importance of teamwork within these organizations. For example, as a
victims advocate; it is necessary to work hand in hand in law enforcement and the department of
corrections to be able to provide as well as receive information regarding a victim/ defendant. “It
is only through trust that the judge, prosecutor, and other court officials can form the kinds of
bonds with participants that make rehabilitation possible. It is the sense of being trusted that
motivates participants to stick with the rehabilitative program when the process works. And it is
trust that participants build when they fix relationships with family members and other people in
their lives.” (Kleinfeld, Joshua, and Hadar Dancig-Rosenberg, 2022)
Conclusion
In conclusion, the administration of justice holds a very high level of responsibility. With
this responsibility comes authority however, this does not make the job any easier. After
analyzing the chapter, I was able to confirm the overall goal of the administration of justice,
which is keeping the community safe and providing justice. In psalm 91:1-16 it reads: He who
dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the
lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” This scripture relates to the idea
that if we trust the leaders of the organizations, that we will be provided with protection and
justice as citizens of the community.
