IntroductionI believe that Crime Prevention through environmental design is the most effective
along withcommunity watch programs. In communities that have the appearance that they are
taken care of by the community are seen as a deterrent to criminals who will observe a well taken
care of area and move on to anther area because they see a risk of getting caught in that
community. Communities that have neighborhood watch programs have positive relationships
with the policeand open dialogues and the added police involvement is a deterrent to potential
criminals.
