This was an interesting scenario to read and have to come to a conclusion of what I
would have done. However, I do think that a conclusion can be reached, and I'd have to
say that I may have chosen to search this house more thoroughly due to a report saying
the suspect was near this household and this lady had left her basement door unlocked,
so the suspect could have very well run into this home. I believe that I would have
investigated this house more thoroughly in light of the fact that the suspect was seen
around this residence and her door was unlocked. God also calls us to protect and care
for others and to do whatever possible to make sure everyone is cared for. 1 John 3:16,
"By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our
lives for the brothers."
When I am in public, I do attempt to conduct myself as if I am on camera because it is
good practice for a future in policing. Also, it is good to conduct myself appropriately
because as a Christian, we are supposed to uphold and represent Christ and we are
supposed to uphold a higher standard because we are witnesses for Christ. This is a
very interesting question to consider and talk about. My grandmother doesn't agree with a
lot of things I do such as music choice and ways that I conduct myself in my daily life. I
listen to the music I do because I believe that it is ok to listen to said music even though
they disagree with it.
I believe that setting limits to tolerable behavior is a very good thing for many reasons.
First off, it allows for rules to be set that must be followed and if not, disciplinary action
can be taken. Second, it allows for there to be no bending of rules and people taken
advantage of without consequence. It brings about a level of accountability on

everyone's part and allows for organization and order to be had. Having set rules and
guidelines for everything keeps peace and order in check and keeps chaos from
ensuing. Having set limits for tolerable behavior keeps people in check and allows
protection for citizens when talking about police specifically. If police didn't have rules that
they are supposed to follow and uphold, then there would be a very big misuse of power
and lead to people getting hurt and taken advantage of.
