Narrative Essay
Source of Activity- On April 4th, 2017, at 06:30 I was dispatched to 227 East Memorial
Drive, Normal, Virginia 12345, responding to the victims friend who called in the incident.
Observation- I knocked on the front door with no answer, so I went through the
unlocked side door finding the victim Natalie Lynn Turner, dead on scene her friend was sitting
in the kitchen sobbing. I Interviewed the friend Chelsea Ann Howser at the victim’s residence. I
was able to find information on the victims, Friend and a possible suspect ex-boyfriend. I took
photos of the scene and went to conduct more interviews on the ex-boyfriend.
Statements (Chelsea)- This is a summary of what I learned from the interview of the
victim’s friend Chelsea Ann Howser. Chelsea gave information on the victim’s personal
information and work schedule. Howser was able to give a time frame of when Mrs. Turner was
alive 20:30 the night before while they were on the phone. Howser said that Mrs. Turner was
“bipolar” but indicated that she did not know if the victim was suicidal, she also pointed out
that on the phone Mrs. Turner said she “had to go because someone was at the front door.”
Chelsea gave information about an ex the victim has that has been “controlling” and
“emotionally draining” for the victim. The most significant part of the interview is that Chelsea
mentioned that the ex-boyfriend could have been a problem in her life with her saying, “would
raise his hand to scare her every now and then.” She then says that she thinks that the
exboyfriend is responsible for her death.
Arrest- There was no arrest made at this time.
Statement (Whately)- The summary of the interview with the co-worker of the
exboyfriend. I learned from the co-worker information about Zach, from how he acts, what he
looks like, military status, and a timeframe of Zachs whereabouts.
Statement (Cain)- The interview between me and Mr. Cain was very short, I got his
name, birthday, and phone number. When I asked about Mrs. Turner he got into a rush and left
the house in a hurry.

Booking- There was no booking involved at this time.
Additional- While at Mrs. Turners house I tagged a ThinkPad and pills for evidence. I also
found a wallet with Mr. Cains ID and social security card inside.
When I was at Mr. Cains house I found a Kate Spade handbag and the victims ID and her
physiologist business card I intake these as evidence.
