a a a a a a a a a a Whitney states from the beginning of his book that spiritual disciples are
necessary for the purpose of Godliness. Every Christian should striving be to be
more like Christ and the only way to to do that is develop spiritual disciplines
centered around scripture that foster spiritual growth. Engage the Spiritual “ in
Disciplines given by God in Scripture so that you are continually shown your need
for Christ and the infinite supply of grace and mercy found to be by faith in Jesus
Christ.”[1] His is point Christians need God’s grace and mercy to be saved but
they also need His precepts for discipline in their daily lives grow to in their
efforts more Christ-like. Just like athlete; the discipline of practice, eating to be an
right, and studying all aspects of their sport makes them the best they can be.
Likewise, meditating on God’s word, prayer, journaling, and other disciplines help
Christians become the best they can be.
a a a a a a a a a a I agree wholeheartedly with assessment I have experienced Whitney’s as
what teaches he in his book on a personal level during a lifetime of sports and
now with my walk with God. Discipline to do the right things with the proper
direction makes all difference the world when the in you’re trying to improve in
anything. Three areas of spiritual discipline that I need to work on are silence and
