Marriage
SUMMARY
I believe that marriage is designed and ordained by God to be between a man and a
woman as revealed through His Holy Word. While the secular world, including the United States
government, has redefined marriage to include members of the same sex, God has the final
authority over biblical marriage and this sacred covenant between two Christians. From the
beginning, God declared that it was not good for man to be alone and as a result, he created
woman to be man’s helper. Both were created as equals, yet with different roles and purposes.
And while secular arguments are falsely based on the idea that Jesus never spoke about
homosexuality specifically, Jesus did confirm the design of marriage as outlined in Genesis.
Furthermore, Scripture instructs us as to the relationship to each other and Christ. I
believe that as Christ is over His bride the church, likewise, man is over his bride and is to love
her as Christ loved the church. Even so, the two are to be subject to each other, they are equal in
their love to one another and Christ. It is this mutual love and submission that leads to a healthy
marriage that glorifies God.

longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.’”

4. Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the
wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. But as
the church is subject to Christ, also the wives out to be to their husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her,
so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of the water with the word,
that He might present himself to the church in all her glory, having no spots or wrinkle or any
such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless. So husbands ought also to love their
own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; for no one ever
hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church,
because we are members of His body” (Eph. 5:22-30).
5. Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do
not be harsh with them.” (Col. 3:18-19).
Abortion
SUMMARY
God is the creator of all things. It is God that brings forth life and brings death. Therefore,
I believe that abortion is a violation of the 6th commandment and is an attack on God Himself.
From the moment of conception, human life is of immense value to God. Scripture is clear that
God is active in the conception of every life which does not begin at birth. While the argument is
valid My body, my choice,” society has closed its eyes to the fact that there are two bodies
involved, the mother’s and that of the fetus’. While there are unconscionable circumstances in
which life is created, God uses what was meant for evil for God. While some may want to grant
exceptions based on the circumstances of rape or incest, these reasons fail to consider the life
aborted. The only possible exception would be in the event of the imminent death of the mother.
Therefore, no government has the authority to grant permission to remove the right to life that is
gifted by God.

Gender Issues
SUMMARY
Though the world may want to accept and redefined the work of a sovereign God,
Scripture is abundantly clear that concerning any issues with Gender. Therefore, since God is not
the author of confusion, I believe that all gender issues are a direct result of Satan’s attack on
God’s image-bearers. Those who struggle with gender and sexuality have been deceived and do
not know their Creator.
The Bible is clear that God made them in His image, male and female, with the purpose
to be fruitful and multiply to fill the earth. And because God is incapable of making a mistake,
there is no moral justification for transgenderism or homosexuality. Scripture provides a clear
understanding that all sexual immorality, heterosexual activity outside of marriage, is wrong and
that which involves same-sex persons is a detestable act. Therefore, while Christians are
commanded to love our neighbors, that love must include sharing God’s truth with people
experiencing these issues, allowing the Holy Spirit to convict and make them a new creation in
Christ.

Alcohol Consumption
SUMMARY
There are many different beliefs among Christians when it comes to alcohol
consumption. While some believe Christians are prohibited from consuming alcohol and abstain
from drinking themselves, this can lead to a pharisaical view they have for others who do not. I
believe that Scripture does not teach prohibition of alcohol for Christians, rather, like most
pleasures created by God, Scripture teaches against the overindulgence of alcohol consumption.
However, I do believe that Christians must be aware that not everyone has the same restraints
when it comes to alcohol consumption and should ensure that they do not cause a brother or
sister to stumble. Though I do believe that drinking is permissible with moderation, I do not
believe alcohol should be glorified. I see too many Christians posting pictures of their beverage
of choice, some of them pastors, that does nothing to build up the body of Christ. Therefore,
Christian consumption of alcohol is not sinful, the abuse and glorification of it are.
