Customer value differentiation follows a model where the benefits or value of a
product are differentiated to meet various customer needs in a segment. By this definition
alone, most organizations would prefer this model due to its dynamic inclusivity of every
customer. On the other hand, customer needs differentiation entails a lot for the organization
or business offering a service or a product. This is the case because needs differentiation of
customers comes with it a complex journey that aims to understand nearly all the potential
needs a customer or a consumer may have regarding a product (Peppers & Rogers, 2015).
Additionally, according to Peppers and Rogers in their article Managing Customer
relationships, we understand customer needs' various characteristics, which make customer
needs differentiation potentially impossible (Peppers & Rogers, 2015). There is no single best
way to differentiate customers by their needs since a business or company can not to a
hundred percent certainty predict and quantify a customer's value to an enterprise.
Additionally, the most important human needs tend to be psychological. An enterprise would
have to embark on a task where it seeks to understand various psychological differences
among people to get guidance on treating customers differently, which can pose quite a
