Discussion: Biblical Worldwide on Business Instructions
Keller and Alsdorf (2014) offer important insights into the Christian view of work and
provide a professional and balance personal life. However, five things are the most important
from the text, and I agree with them. First, work as a service make Christians reflect on their
work in the world. People should choose jobs not to fulfill their selves and gain power, but for
being called by God to do something is empowering enough (Keller & Alsdorf, 2014). Work
is part of who we are and what we do, and its primary means should be to improve those lives
on earth (McGhee, 2019). I believe work has to be seen as a way of service to God and our
neighbors, so everyone is more likely to succeed in the long run.
Second, people have to understand work as an act of love. One can honor God by loving
his or her neighbors and serving them through work (Keller & Alsdorf, 2014). These include
people being respected and being treated equally as everyone possesses equal dignity and thus
deserves equal respect (McGhee, 2019). Mouw (2015) mentions that common grace is at work
wherever civic virtue, natural love, and integrity mutual loyalty. This makes sense because the
better job we make, the more benefits it will bring to the community.
Third, Keller and Alsdorf (2014) help the audience understand that even challenging work
was designed to be, the broken nature of work seems overwhelming. Therefore, it is essential to
be able to find hope at work. I agree that the gospel changes our motives for work and fills us
with a new power that helps people make ethical decisions. A Christian worldwide helps
organizations have the culture, structures, and leadership required to make employees feel that
they contribute to the firm and God’s transformation via their work (McGhee, 2019).
Fourth, the Christian worldview shapes all work as it has made fundamental contributions
to a culture that may not be readily apparent (Keller & Alsdorf, 2014). There is a general

agreement that people want to bring their spiritual worldviews and practice to their work context
(McGhee, 2019). Christian faith affects work as it gives people a new perspective on every
culture and every field of work. If a person can incorporate Christian values into how they live a
purpose vocations, they will be more efficient, and the common good will be promoted.
Therefore, one has always been ready to talk to others about the Savior and make people
better workers (McGhee, 2019).
Fifth, everyone participates in God’s work as he is the creator, and our work mirrors his
creative work (Keller & Alsdorf, 2014). It is essential to understand that even someone that is
not a Christian can hold the best values and produce excellent output. However, a Christian can
make a difference in the quality, spirit, and honesty he accomplishes tasks.
On the other hand, if a biblical worldview component was added to my research design, it
will make my research approach multidimensional. The integration of spirituality into any job
produces increased efficiency and improved results (McGhee, 2019). It would also allow me to
show people a new way to emphasize the inner power that comes from the gospel. A social
justice viewpoint can also be added to reflect God’s desire to serve others through work. As
Keller and Alsdorf (2014), a biblical worldview is complementary and practical to my research.
It is compelling and helpful in all cultures and vocations as it is rich and multidimensional.
