How can a person become a successful leader by being humble?
Humility is a quality that can take a person a long way in life whether it is professionally or
personally. Being humble a leader knows how to give others credit make them feel like they are a
key member of a team or organization. According Owens & Hekman (2015), “humility involves
leaders modeling to followers how to grow and produce.” A humble leader will appreciate each
of their team members and not feel as if they are above any one and show this through their
actions and policies. Humble leaders become successful because of their day to actions such as
greeting all employees, making employees feel like they are on the same level by having open
door policies, listening to others hearing out their problems and helping them to resolve these
problems. By making employees feel like they are valued this in most cases improves moral,
improves attendance and makes employees work harder because of how they feel that they are
valued.
Ephesians 4:2 (NIV) says, “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one
another in love.” The scripture lets us know of the needed qualities to be humble, these are things
that a leader should pray for if they do not already have them. A leader that is not humble can be
viewed as arrogant and difficult which leads to employees not wanting to deal with them and
avoid interaction as much as possible which can hurt employee morale. Being humble and the
qualities I mentioned will make a leader successful not only because of the positive relationships
they will have with their workers by being viewed as approachable employees will come to
leaders to resolve problems before they lead to major issues and keep the organization working
in a proper manner.

Why is it an important leadership trait to serve others first?
1 Peter 5:3 (KJV) says, “Not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the
flock. The scripture lets us know that we have to be examples to those who we are in charge of
and not be a dictator over them. Often leaders forget this when they are in charge they think they
have become King or Queen and all bow to them instead of making sure their employees are ok
and offering a helping hand. As a Christian God has given us a command to be servant leader we
have to be a servant before we can be a leader. By serving others first we are helping them with
their needs and helping them become the best person they can be. Servant leaders motivate their
followers through investing in them and empowering them to do their best (Thakore, 2014). By
serving others first employees can become creative, the work environment is positive and
ultimately leads to a more productive environment.
What is the importance of relying on Jesus’ will and ways as it relates to leadership?
Psalm 32:8 (KJV) says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will
counsel you with my loving eye on you.” It is important for us to be led by God because of the
various people of all types of backgrounds that we can have leadership over. God will led us how
to deal with each person and be able to communicate with them in a manner that works for that
individual or how to speak to a group or team overall. By relying on God will led us through the
ups and downs that a business faces and will help one to keep their composure and be prepared
for changes.
