Numerous Bible scriptures deal with business ethics. Many of them emphasize the
importance of corporate ethics and integrity. Character is defined as a person's ethical and moral
attributes together, and it is demonstrated through the decisions we make. As a result, as a
business owner or decision-maker, you should think about how your decision will affect others
and the community rather than making a hurried decision that will have dire consequences in the
future. Some of the valued character traits in businesses are integrity, honesty, giving, fortitude,
and courage.
A company that gives to the poor and the needy gives it an excellent reputation to the
community and customers. Some Bible verses that insist on giving to the needy are Proverbs
19;17 “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will repay him for his deed.”
Luke 6:38 “Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together,
running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to
you.” Proverbs 11; 25 “Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will
himself be watered." All these bible verses insist and show how important it is to give. Those
who pass will be rewarded and given more. It is better a hand that gives than that which receives.
In our contemporary world, there are philanthropic companies that believe in giving to
the needy. Charity is part of this company’s mission. An excellent example of such companies
that provides much charity to the needy is Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo contributes at least 1% of its
profits to charity. Most Multinational Corporations give charity to the needy. Wells Fargo, for
instance, does this and uses it as a marketing strategy. Most consumers prefer companies that
practice corporate social responsibility. According to Ryabtseva (2018), corporate

philanthropists earn a good reputation and improve their brand awareness in public, increasing
their customer base. A good reputation precedes an increase in customer base, which then
translates to increased sales, revenue, and profits for the company.
Wells Fargo's marketing strategy of helping the needy has enabled it to grow and expand
magnificently to become an international company. We can even say that their expansion to
become a multinational company shows how genuine the bible verses are that the Lord repays
those who give to the needy with bountiful. Marketing is a crucial sector in every company, and
finding an excellent way to do it serves the company very well. The character of wells Fargo of
giving to the needy has served as a good marketing strategy to the company and even increased
their customer base and revenue.
According to Becerra-Vicario (2020), a firm's social responsibility must result in an
agreement between social and commercial benefits. Philanthropic actions improve a company's
competitiveness, which will enhance the status of productive elements and demand requirements.
Not only can corporate philanthropy serve the community, but it also benefits your firm and its
employees. Corporate philanthropy has evolved into a critical component of business success,
offering more advantages and having a more substantial impact on results.
In conclusion, from our scenario of wells Fargo, we can see that just like the Bible says,
those who give to the poor receive abundantly. We can see that companies implement this
strategy by becoming corporate philanthropists, which benefits the community and the company.
