WRITING 1
AMERICANS BECOMING RUDE IN THEIR INTERACTION WITH ONE ANOTHER IN
THE BUSINESS.
ENVIRONMENT
The American culture is a major contributor to rudeness since it is a culture that glorifies self and
rewards people for rudeness making people look down upon that which is good (Johnson &
Idvik, 2001). It promotes a godless society where people do not subscribe to any religious norms
which are full of moral lessons people becoming busy and interested with self-gratification is
what is described in the Holy Bible in the book of second Timothy chapter three verse two (2nd
Timothy 3:2). This verse describes this as one of those things that will happen during the end
times. People are becoming out of control since they no longer want to do that which is good.
This essay focuses on the possible causes of such rudeness and how they can be solved
The rudeness and incivility of most American people extend even into their business. A culture
that promotes immorality should mainly be blamed for rising cases of hostility, vulgarity, and
incivility among workers. Research shows that currently, it is three times as much easier for a
rude person to get to a leadership position within the government, large organizations or even
businesses than humble people. Some of how rudeness manifests itself in business setups include
failure by employees to turn off their cell phones during meetings. Nobody is willing to take
responsibility for common collective office duty like leaving copiers jammed with papers, lack
of greetings within offices; some people are also mostly on their phones instead of doing some
constructive work that could be helpful to the business. Some people also appear depressed most
of the time (Johnson & Idvik, 2001). The cost of incivility is very high amounting to billions of
dollars yearly. These losses could be due to undone work, reduced productivity, and skipped
work days mostly due bad behavior.
WRITING 2
One of the possible cause of rudeness is lack of a one on one interaction within the offices
between the management and the employees. This creates a vast gap that can result in the
employees being reckless and irresponsible on how they carry out themselves. Businesses should
employ poles that create environments for interaction. Strict rules on communication should also
be put in place that prohibits disheartening comments and bad language (Ferrel& Fraedrich,
2013)
In conclusion, it is important to note that culture and depression cause rudeness. Most people
currently are very likely to suffer from depressive illnesses resulting from their environments and
interactions. The American culture promotes self-gratification and incivility which extends even
to the workplace.
