Thesis Statement: Companies worldwide have and used multiple retention methods to help their
businesses. Although there is no perfect method but there are practical and efficient strategies the
companies can implement.
Question(s)/Issues Being Addressed:
I. What is retention, and does it mean for businesses?
A. Retention strategies are meant to help utilize the current and future of the company.
1. The way that companies go about creating these strategies could make or break the
company.
II. How does retention methods make or break the company?
A. Having a high turnover rate and low employee engagement could go either way for the
company.
1. Showing of having a high turnover shows the next potential employee that this is not a
great work environment.
III. How to prevent the high turnovers and how to create new effective retention methods.

A. Better pay and benefits are a wonderful way to keep current employees and attract
new ones.
1. Listening to the current employee needs and wants gives you a better understanding of
what needs to be done.
