One of the leaders who have made a positive impact on my life is Steve Jobs. The death of Steve
Jobs greatly altered my general perception of Apple since I considered Job’s name as part of his
innovative drive behind Apple’s branding. In the current world full of responsibility, a major trait
that I absorb from Jobs is been focused. Indeed, he was much focused and that’s why the
products of the company become most loved in history. Simply, he was mainly focused on
perfecting every opportunity he came through and yes, he picked the technology and made it his
life. Moreover, the ability to set goals, and been committed to providing a tremendous success
for the company was a great trait that I admire today (Isaacson, 2012). Another trait of Steve
Jobs was urgency. Through his urgency, he built innovative solutions and created products
before customers realized they required it. His urgency gave him drive and most of the times he
made articulations on life and death, time been the most tool for success.
Steve Jobs was driven by the vision in which he was driven by a can-do spirit, in which he
believed he can do things completely, in a different way (Nwabueze, 2011). These leadership
behaviors are the most impactful to me because, by use of them, I can be able to innovate on
many things in my organization as a leader. Being innovative makes it effective to come up with
new ideas for your business. In an organizational context, I feel that leaders should copy the
same traits, as well come up with others that can lead to the organizational success. In Galatians
6:9, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we
do not give up.” Indeed, Draft’s introductory concepts about leadership apply to Jobs as a leader
and his/her actions. According to Draft’s, leadership is the ability to support and inspiring people
who are in need of achieving the goals of an organization. Leadership is encompassed by every
day acting and thinking.
