Tactical Plan: Growth and Maturity
Staffing Strategy
As the business tends to maturity, staffing remains a crucial success element. Go-Green
Smart Denim (GSD) takes staffing seriously because it is one way of attaining a competitive
advantage over competitors. Staffing strategies commonly used by organizations focus mainly on
issues such as the cost of the total labor force needed to achieve set goals and objectives and the
number of employees at any given time. On the other hand, factors such as the location of a
business, the industry, product and services, the technology available, the prevailing economic
situation, and the legal and regulatory environment equally influence staffing decisions in an
organization (Wilson & Gilligan, 2019). To determine the cost of labor, a business analyses
current and near-future behavior of salaries, benefits, and other related expenses, including the
cost of training employees, the cost incurred by legal absentia (education leave, maternity and
paternity, medical leave, paid leave and many more).
For GSD, the most appropriate staffing strategy involves assembling a skilled and
dedicated team of professionals with an average experience of five years and above at the time of
employment. The company’s staffing strategy also emphasizes having a motivated team that
shares the vision of sustainable fashion. Such a tactic lowers the need for training recently hired
employees. Research shows that the need for staff training increases with an increase in
employee turnover rate as well as less portfolio experience of the replacements (Phillips, J., &
Gully, 2012). In this case, hiring those who have worked in the fashion industry as well as
recycling may result in no further training when rehired by GSD. Similarly, the company may
consider experienced marketing and salespeople to push its brand within the target segment. The
only area that may not need experience is the collection of used denim clothes from the various
3
collection points situated within colleges and university campuses and designated community
collection points.
The Cost of Labor
As initially indicated, labor cost depends on several factors. One of them is the number of
employees the company requires. All the key areas: collection, product design and development,
production and manufacturing, operations and logistics, and sales and marketing must not be
understaffed so that the organization can meet the set goals. A comprehensive strategy is
necessary for processes such as recruitment, selection, and training. This enhances the retention
of top talents while also giving the employees opportunity to provide their best in everything
they do. The recruitment process encompasses identifying the right candidates from a pool of
many job seekers. These processes include vacancy announcements or postings, job applications,
and being shortlisted for interviews and interviews. Selection involves screening all the potential
candidates to determine the best fit for a particular vacancy. GSD will require approximately 600
permanent employees and 1200 casual laborers. The number may increase further as the
company expands.
In terms of compensation, GSD will provide a competitive salary, reasonable wages, and
benefits packages in order to recruit and retain its highly talented workforce. The organization
will also provide performance-based bonuses and incentives to inspire the staff to accomplish
their objectives and drive the company's growth. To encourage our workers to grow and flourish
with the firm, we will also give possibilities for career promotion and professional development.
Operations plan for growing/mature business.

As GSD evolves into maturity, the operations plan switches from aggressive expansion to
efficiency enhancement, maximizing productivity and profitability while also continuing with a
commitment to sustainability and responsible consumption. When GSD attains full maturity,
which refers to a state where a firm is fully established in its industry, has a product known to
almost every household member, and unassailable customer loyalty, its day-to-day operations
will include numerous critical functions, such as:
Product design and development: The design team focuses on developing new and inventive
designs for the company's line of sustainable denim items, considering market trends and
feedback from consumers and other stakeholders.
Production and manufacturing: The organization's manufacturing unit switches its attention to
the responsible production of denim and related items using efficient and sustainable production
techniques through utilizing the latest technology and equipment to minimize waste and
maximize productivity. Sourcing of raw materials is also done ethically to ensure the whole
production activity is consistent with the sustainable approach the company has taken.
Sales and marketing: At the maturity stage, GSD's sales and marketing personnel concentrate on
promoting our sustainable denim goods to our target market of conscientious consumers,
increasing brand recognition, and driving sales through digital marketing channels and strategic
collaborations.
Logistics and operations: Another important unit is logistics and operations. This is the nerve
center of supply chain activities in the company. This unit remains to be responsible for supply
chain transformation from a money-minting endeavor to an efficient, shared-responsibility
5
partnership. The business leverages technology and data analytics to optimize its logistics and
operations processes and reduce costs.
In terms of operation and value creation, GSD collects discarded denim fabrics and
converts them into high-quality, stylish products, including sandals, bags, sofas, caps, and
outfits. The business creates value for its product by making great designs as well as prioritizing
eco-friendliness, sustainability, and responsible consumption, which has become a critical
concern for many consumers in today's market.
To create value for the product, GSD will focus on designing and producing fashionable
and trendy products that will appeal to the target audience. The company will also emphasize the
eco-friendly nature of its products, using marketing channels such as social media, email
marketing, and influencer marketing to attract conscious consumers. GSD will also focus on
consumer convenience through its e-commerce platform, offering a streamlined online
purchasing experience with secure payment choices, fast delivery, and exceptional customer
support. In order to cut distribution costs and expand market coverage, the firm will also offer a
Click & Collect sales and distribution approach.
GSD's capital costs are dictated by a number of factors, including the type of equipment
used in the production process, the premises, and the information technology infrastructure
needed to drive operations. For that reason, the company will invest in a cutting-edge
manufacturing plant to guarantee high-quality, sustainable denim goods in an efficient manner as
well as reliable, scalable, and highly-secure cloud-based information systems to improve
efficiency.
6
In full maturity, the GSD's management is bound to change. For instance, the previous structure
where the CEO or the president was deputized by four vice presidents in charge of various
divisions has since changed into lean management headed by a CEO. The emphasis of this new
structure is focused on collaboration and teamwork. The organizational chart will consist of the
following positions:
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Chief Operations Officer (COO)
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Director of Product Design and Development
Director of Manufacturing
Director of Sales and Marketing
Director of Logistics and Operations (Collection of used denim)
Human Resources Manager
Marketing plan for growing/mature business
GSD's marketing strategy will be centered on appealing to its target demographic of
environmentally concerned consumers who appreciate quality, style, and ease. GSD will reach
its target market using the following types of advertising based on the cost-benefit analysis:
1. Email marketing: GSD will employ email marketing to keep consumers up to know on
new goods, discounts, and other developments. This type of advertising will assist the
firm in maintaining its consumer relationships and encouraging repeat purchases.
2. Social media: GSD will market its goods, disseminate information about its sustainable
practices, and communicate with customers using social media channels such as
7
Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. This will be an effective method of reaching and
engaging with millennials, who make up a sizable portion of the target audience.
3. Influencer marketing: To promote its products, the corporation will collaborate with
influencers who share its brand values. Influencers may assist GSD in reaching a larger
audience and establishing a reputation.
GSD's anticipated marketing budget for one year will be $150,000. The company will
allocate funds to the different modes of advertising as follows:
Marketing Expense Category
Estimated
Cost
Allocation Strategy
Digital Advertising (Google Ads,
Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads)
$20,000
Allocate evenly across all channels to ensure
equal reach and exposure to the target market
Email Marketing (software

messaging to subscribers
Social Media Management (content

The allocation strategy takes a balanced angle to achieve equal reach and exposure across
all marketing channels. The budget allocation, on the other hand, may be altered based on the
efficiency of each channel as well as the individual demands and goals of the organization. As
the company grows and matures, the marketing budget may expand, and the channel allocation
strategy may move toward more targeted and successful channels.
